The Florida Department of Education is conducting its annual survey for parents of students with disabilities who are receiving Exceptional Student Education (ESE) services. The survey provides valuable information on how well schools are supporting parents’ involvement in their child’s education. In an effort to increase parent participation, the State has provided paper surveys for all students who had individual educational plans (IEPs) and in attendance during October. Each envelope will contain a parent cover letter, a survey, and a postage-paid envelope. The paper surveys will be sent home with the students. Within the next week or so, you should receive your survey. If your child was not in attendance during this time period, or transferred to another school, you may request a generic paper survey from your child’s Intervention Support Specialist (Karyn Columbus), or complete the State’s online version of the survey. If preferred, all parents of students with an IEP may choose to complete the online version of the survey at http://www.esesurvey.com. The survey is open February 1 – May 31st. It is very important to us that your voice is heard!
