The Education Channel, cable 99, is your "window to education."  The School District of Collier County's cable access channel is programmed 24/7 with educational and informational programming, much of it locally produced.

July 2008  

Chancellor Haithcock presents the award to The Education Channel's David Delene, camera operator, and Erin Mauser, videographer.
The School District of Collier County’s Open Mic TV call-in show was judged best television show in the State of Florida by the Sunshine State School Public Relations Association (SUNSPRA).  Open Mic won a first place Sunshine Medallion Award in the Broadcast TV category.  Open Mic earned “Best of Show” awards competition honors as well.  The awards were presented by Florida’s Chancellor of Education, Frances Haithcock, during a Florida Association of School Administrators conference in Naples.  Superintendent, Dr. Dennis L. Thompson, is the guest on each of the monthly shows.  Open Mic is hosted by Naples Daily News Editorial Page Editor Jeff Lytle.  It airs live at 5:30 pm on the second Monday of each month on The Education Channel.

Storytime, a nightly read aloud television program produced by the School District of Collier County Communication & Information Office, was recognized by the Sunshine State School Public Relations Association (SUNSPRA) with a Sunshine Medallion Award.  The recognition, a first-place statewide award, was given in the Broadcast – Medium District category.  The award was presented during a SUNSPRA awards celebration held in St. Petersburg.  Storytime gives Pre-Kindergarten thru 5th grade students a chance to be read to each evening by guest readers.  Storytime, can be seen at 7 pm Monday thru Friday.  Replays are scheduled for 7 am and 12 pm the following day, and a Storytime TV marathon airs from 8 am to 10:30 am each Saturday as a cartoon alternative.
