Media Center

Corkscrew Middle Media Center is a full service library. Calvin Boggess  the Media Specialist, has thirty years of experience in Collier County Public Schools. Mr. Boggess has a Master’s Degree in Library Science from the University of South Florida. His mission is to create a friendly environment open to learning and creativity. The center will develop students' information literacy and critical thinking skills by concentrating on three important areas: Reading, Research and Technology skills.

The Accelerated Reader Program, which has proven success, will be used to gauge and promote reading abilities. A project approach will be used to develop research skills. Students will have access to books that cover the full range of subjects and a computer network of electronic databases and the internet. A wide range of technologies will be provided so students can have the option to create projects beyond the traditional paper report. The Media Center will strive to become an important part of your student's learning experience.

Media Assistant, Brisa Zambrano , checks out books for students and keeps the media center organized. Mrs. Zambrano opens the Media Center at 8:30 each morning for students that would like to work on school assignments.
