Our Media Center Is Special! We Love It!

We have flexible scheduling so that students can visit the media center whenever they have a need and their classroom teacher approves.

We serve children from grades Pre-K to 5..

We have materials for English, Spanish, and Creole students.

A full-time, certified media specialist and aide are employed to service our staff and young learners.

Our curriculum focuses on reading and Accelerated Reader supports the student’s independent reading.

We have a television program produced by our GTE students in the studio each morning that keeps our students and staff current on the happenings of the day and month.

Books in our media center are chosen from a wide variety of professional sources to meet the wide reading levels of our students.

Our Mission

At Golden Terrace, we believe success in school begins with reading. We firmly believe, our media center is the heart of our school and an integral part of our curriculum. It is our philosophy that the Media Center exists for the purpose of helping young learners learn to read and begin a life-long-journey through the world of books and media materials. Our staff is committed to encouraging, helping, and promoting young readers in the use of books and various forms of technology appropriate to their levels that aid them in learning.
