Applicants: Instructional

Your application must contain the following items in order to be considered complete:

  1. A completed District School Board of Collier County application.
  2. Official undergraduate and graduate transcripts.
  3. Documentation of eligibility for certification in Florida. Documentation can be one of the following:
    • Transcripts reflecting a degree major in education.
    • A statement of eligibility from the Florida Department of Education.
    • A valid, standard out-of-state certificate.
  4. Two (2) professional references. CLICK HERE TO PRINT THE INSTRUCTIONAL REFERENCE FORM. Please print, complete and return. One reference must be from your most recent supervisor.
  5. A copy of your license, certificate, and/or test results.
  6. Completion of the Teacher Insight Assessment, which is available as part of the online application process.
  7. For highly qualified documentation, experienced applicants must have their previous employer complete one of the following if appropriate:
    • Elementary, Exceptional Student Education , Social Science, Elementary Music and Elementary Art  experienced applicants, who have completed the HOUSSE plan in another district, must have that employer complete the "Verification of Highly qualified HOUSSE" form.
    • Experienced Elementary applicants who have not previously completed a HOUSSE plan, but have taken the Elementary subject area exam in another state, must have their previous district complete the "Verification of Highly Qualified Subject Area Content Test" form. 
  8. A copy of your social security card is also requested, but not required.

INTERVIEW PROCEDURES FOR INSTRUCTIONAL APPLICANTS:

  1. After you have submitted the online job application with the Office of Human Resources, and then taken the Teacher Insight Interview, you should begin to monitor the Vacancy List. When you find a position for which you are qualified, you may call the contact referenced.
  2. The principal/supervisor for the position maintains a list of applicants that are interested in the vacant position. The principal/supervisor will review the applications and schedule interviews for those that have been selected after the review process is completed. The District does not reimburse candidates for travel and other related expenses.
  3. The principal/supervisor then recommends a candidate for the position to the Board, and employment with the District can only commence after the Board has approved the appointment.
  4. All candidates, if selected for an interview, will be contacted by the principal/supervisor regarding their status.
