(Revised)
August 30, 2012

All Collier County Public Schools were closed on Monday, August 27, 2012, because of Tropical Storm Isaac. Students will make up the day of lost instructional time by extending two previously scheduled half days to full days. Thursday, October 18, 2012, and Tuesday, November 6, 2012, were previously scheduled as Early Dismissal days and will now become regular full days of school for the district’s students and staff.

The decision was made to close all schools and district offices on Monday, August 27, 2012, to ensure the safety of all students and staff members and to allow for the opening of storm shelters for our community. As a result, the district must make up the student day that was missed.

The changes to the academic school calendar will be recommended by staff to the School Board for approval at the next regularly scheduled School Board Meeting on Tuesday, September 11, 2012.
