2010 ALL-SPORTS BOOSTER CASH GIVE-A-WAY The Naples High School Eagles’ All-Sports Boosters proudly announce that their 16th annual $10,000.00 Cash Give-Away is now underway! As in past years, for a $100 donation you will receive a 1/200 chance to win $10,000.00… that’s right: Only 200 tickets will be sold….and you need not be present to win! This year’s reverse drawing will be held on Wednesday, March 24th, 2010, beginning at 6:00 pm in the Naples High School cafeteria. Refreshments will be served. If you would like a ticket (or more than one ticket), please complete the ORDER FORM and bring or send it to the Naples High School activities office. In past years, we have “sold out” of tickets well before the drawing, so if you want a ticket, please place your order early. Now is the time for college-bound student-athletes in the junior class to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center if they plan on participating in college athletics. Early registration promotes positive planning and involvement, bypasses the last-minute rush and helps college-bound student-athletes avoid issues that may delay their academic and amateur certifications. The registration process is easy and can be done by:
|
As a reminder as a college-bound student-athlete you need to apply to the college or university they are interested in attending. Some student-athletes think that because they are being recruited or because they have registered with the Eligibility Center, they do not need to apply for admission. Be advised that athletics eligibility and admission to a college or university are two separate processes and that both need to be completed. |
NATIONAL FEDERATION OF HIGH SCHOOL ASSOCIATION SURVEYS
Please click the links below to complete surveys for the NFHS to gain valuable data. They are conducting two surveys, one for Athletes and one for Coaches, Parents and Administrators. The preliminary data is giving the NFHS some really interesting information on the current climate of ethics and conduct in sports. THE NFHS will be releasing the final report around the NFHS/NIAAA conference in December. If they get enough responses from Florida to have statistically significant data, they will prepare a special report for Florida on how the state compares to the rest of the country. You can view the two self-assessment surveys by following the links below.

OWN A PIECE OF GOLDEN EAGLE HISTORY
The “original” Naples High School gymnasium opened its doors (along with the rest of the new high school) in the fall of 1960. Forty nine years later, in the summer of 2009, a new state-of-the art gymnasium replaced the original one, and the “old” gym was demolished and now is gone forever. Although that “old” gym is gone, many of the memories that were made there (basketball, volleyball, wrestling, high school dances and even graduations…) will last a lifetime.
The Eagles’ All-Sports Booster Club is now offering everyone a limited time opportunity to recapture a tangible piece of those memories… in the form of an engraved wooden plank from the original Naples High School gymnasium floor. Each 12” X 2” plank of wood is engraved like the picture below:

If you would like to purchase one or more of these pieces of Naples High School history, you can do so one of two ways. They will be available for sale at all home varsity football games this fall, and they will be on sale while supplies last, in the Naples High School athletic office, located in Building One at NHS.
The cost is $20.00 each. Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit ALL sports at Naples High School. If you have questions or if you would like to place your order via e-mail, please contact Trish Hendry (athletic department assistant) at HendryPa@collier.k12.fl.us.
