Dear Parent/Guardian:
Welcome to the Naples High School Mathematics
Department. For your information, here are a few guidelines about
our math classes.
1. EXTRA-HELP… Make appointment with your
teacher. Tutoring is available at lunch from National Honor Society students
as well.
2. GRADES… State mandated scale (90-80-70-60).
3. TESTS… Are usually about every 1-1.5
weeks & count about 70-80% of the quarter grade.
4. HOMEWORK... Expect daily assignments
& they are not accepted late. Counts approximately 20% of the
quarter grade.
5. ABSENCES… Must be validated in order
to make-up work or tests.
6. MAKE-UP TESTS… Arrange with teacher.
Usually at lunch or after school.
7. EXTRA-CREDIT… None.
8. FCAT TEST… Must pass in order to graduate.
9. CALCULATORS… Used on a limited basis.

10. COMPUTERS… We have a computer
lab in the math department utilized by many of our classes.
11. FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER… All rules
in the Student Planner are strictly enforced by the math department.

you with a few of our expectations, policies, and procedures. Thank

Calculators will be used as in the past… that
is most of the time.

Teachers may decide to limit usage for simple
4 function operations on certain topics or for certain tests.

“Mental math” activities will be used periodically
to foster further student performance.
