It was all about awareness. During the forum, several panelists shared Web sites that they felt may be helpful to parents who wish to be more aware, and parents who are interested in monitoring the social media activity and the Internet activity of their sons or daughters.
Here are links to some of those Web sites. Note that there may be charges for some of the services offered and the school district is, in no way, endorsing any of the sites or the services being offered.

Andrea Lynn, Managing Editor. Audience/Niche for the Naples Daily News suggests this is a great place to learn about keeping kids safe online. Additionally, Andrea recommends that parents dive in and read all of those Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policies, and Usage Policies each social network has. “Our kids aren’t reading the policies, but they contain a lot of critical information parents should know,” according to Andrea. “Incidentally, everyone who signs up to be a part of a social network is ‘accepting’ the terms and conditions of that site, even though they may not recognize the terms to which they are agreeing.”
