Governor Rick Scott Visits Immokalee Schools
“Let’s get to work.” That’s Governor Rick Scott’s campaign message and exactly what he did today (Thursday, November 10) in Immokalee. In keeping with his slogan, Governor Scott got to work as a teacher in seven classrooms – teaching the day’s lesson plans.
Beginning his day at 6:30 a.m., Governor Scott taught in three classrooms at Immokalee High School, followed by a short drive across the street to teach two classes at Immokalee Middle School and have lunch with teachers, and then over to Eden Park Elementary School for two science lessons. One of his high school lessons, in an American Government “Honors” class, focused on campaign financing. In an Economics class, the Governor and students engaged in a discussion about taxation. At the middle school, the lessons were on U.S. History and Geography.
The visit to Immokalee is Governor Scott’s sixth “Let’s Get to Work” day – allowing the Governor to learn all about the jobs people have throughout Florida.
