April 30, 2012
Honors Band Concert

Some very talented students participated in the annual Honors Chorus Concert scheduled on April 30 at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts. The concert featured the “best of the best” elementary, middle, and high school choral students from Collier County Public Schools. Each year, students audition for the opportunity to perform in the Honors Chorus Concert. Once selected, the students go through rigorous rehearsals in preparation for the performance. The day of the concert, the students get a special treat as guest clinicians from around Florida work with them in final preparation for their performance.

  • Elementary School Honors Chorus – organized by Hilary Shore, Music Teacher at Estates Elementary School. Their clinician will be Rebecca Richardson – local performer and educator.
  • Middle School Honors Chorus – organized by Elizabeth Ceto, Chorus & Orchestra Director at Cypress Palm Middle School. Their clinician will be Craig Denison – Artistic Director of Florida’s Singing Sons Boychoir.
  • High School Honors Chorus – organized by Joseph Marro, Chorus & Orchestra Director at Golden Gate High School and Golden Gate Middle School. Their clinician will be Dr. Trent Brown – Director of Choral Activity and Assistant Professor of Music at Florida Gulf Coast University.
