    Gulf Coast High School Model UN wins first place at SWFL Model United Nations Competition

    The Gulf Coast High School Model United Nations team has finished the year with it fourth major win. The team took first place overall at Southwest Florida Model United Nations, hosted at Florida Gulf Coast University. This marks the end of a strong season for the team after they took first place at Georgia Tech, Columbia University, and the University of Florida. The following students took home awards at FGCU:

    First Place: Madi Tedrow, Jessica Butehorn, Lydia McCurdy, Jenia Browne, Nicole Garcia

    Second Place: Daniela Kyle, Elaine Kim, Michael Mizell

    Third Place: Alyssa Zinn, Marcos Damien-Noyola, Briana Pawlyshyn, Robert Beatty

    Fourth Place: Matthew Holzaepfel, Peyton Batiato, Carly Lindsay, Kendall Roy

    Position Paper Awards: 3rd Peyton Batiato, 7th, Ethan Upson, and 8th, Jose Chang

    The following students received scholarships for their performances at the conference over their high school careers:
