4/11/2014: Thank you, Naples Alumnae Chapter of Pi Beta Phi! The group raised over $6,000 to support the non-fiction library collection at Shadowlawn Elementary School. In addition, students were each given a free book to take home!
4/11/2014: Congratulations to Barron Collier High School Thespians! They received numerous accolades at the recent state festival including the Critic's Choice Award for Duet Scene in Opening Ceremonies with an audience of 5,000.
4/11/2014: Naples High School Class of 1960 presented a plaque to the Class of 2014 to honor the memory of H.W. “Bubba” Asbell, principal of NHS from 1957-1962. Bubba's legacy will live on in the NHS Hall of Fame where the plaque will be displayed in perpetuity.
4/4/2014: Palmetto Ridge High School Jazz Ensemble received STRAIGHT Superior ratings at the State Jazz MPA on March 28th. On April 8th, the Collier County Board of Commissioners will be forever proclaiming March 2014 as "Palmetto Ridge Band Month" thanks to the hard work and dedication of these fine young musicians.
4/4/2014: Congratulations to the high school recipients of the Princeton Book Awards! They were honored at a recent luncheon at the Naples Yacht Club.
4/4/2014: Pelican Marsh Elementary concluded their Sunshine State Readers Program. Julie Bolock’s fifth grade class and Colleen Steel’s third grade class had every student achieve the goal of reading all 15 of the chapter books!
4/4/2014: An Honors Orchestra Concert for Middle and High School was held on March 14th at Gulf Coast High School. The students did an excellent job performing challenging pieces of music.
4/4/2014: Golden Gate Middle School technology students recently enjoyed a college and careers field trip to Iberia Bank and gained greater insight into the workings of a financial business. 4/4/2014: Top scorers of Lely Aviation Academy's FAA Exam completed a motorized glider flight with help and instruction from former Collier County Judge Ted Brousseau. Each student received a logbook endorsement for 0.5 hours of glider instruction due to their successful flight completion.

3/21/2014: For the first time in school history, Golden Gate High School had two bands perform at the FBA District Concert Band Music Performance Assessment. GGH was the only school in Southwest Florida to have two bands receive straight Superiors.

Students from nine Collier County high schools join students from other Southwest Florida schools in the 25th Annual A Team Challenge. The televised competition honors and fosters academic excellence while presenting a unique opportunity to showcase students’ academic abilities. The A Team Challenge is hosted by NBC-2 Senior Meteorologist Robert Van Winkle.
