Message from Principal Jon Bremseth

  • School PrincipalWelcome to Barron Collier High School. BCH is entering its 42nd year in serving Naples and the greater Collier County. I am a 21-year employee of Collier County Public Schools and a member of the Naples community for over 27 years. It is my honor to serve as principal of Barron Collier and continue the traditions of excellence. My goals are simple: I pledge to help students find their success and forge a path towards goals and aspirations while building a school support network for each student. The faculty and staff are dedicated to supporting and stretching each student to reach his or her potential and build life-long character traits. I look forward to working with all the stakeholders: parents, students, alumni and the community in building on the excellence that is BC. Students, staff, parents, alumni, and community members understand it is "All about the Blue." My accessibility to you is important. Please feel free to contact me at any time as we build a working relationship for our students and our community. I invite you to visit Barron Collier High School and experience the traditions of excellence that make us "BC Nation."

  • Parents & Students of BC Nation,

I know many of you are excited, nervous, anxious, and thrilled to get school underway. We have welcomed 400+ Freshman and their families to the Cougar family. I know you have questions, and I will try and answer them for you.

    Student Advisory Council (SAC) Ballot:

Schedules:  The bell schedules are located in the schedules channel on the BC Website. The school will open at 6:40 am.

Resources:  Students scheduled into specific courses are being issued consumable workbooks that coincide with the content. Not all textbooks are being issued due to the number of books available, the textbook is online, or it won't be needed until a later date. In some instances, curriculum materials for students will be communicated through the teacher as to the timeframe for when it is needed and how to access it.

Supplies:  We do not have a school supply list for students. Teachers will communicate with students on specific supplies based on classroom and content requirements. Since we aren't passing out papers, turning in physical assignments, and limiting the amount of person-to-person handling of material, I would wait to see what is really needed.

Patience:  This is probably the most important thing needed at this time. The staff at BC has been working very hard to learn new technology, lesson design, Canvas, and creating an in-person and virtual classroom come to life. We ask that you work with us and support this learning process and the hiccups that will come along with it. The teachers have the best interest of the students in their hearts and want to create something meaningful for them. This will take a little time.

Please monitor our website for information. Barron Collier staff is dedicated to the safety and security of your children and we can work together to get through this. If you have questions, please contact your child's school counselor or administration for support.

    Proud to be your Principal,

    Mr. Jon M. Bremseth
