Today's Learners - Tomorrow's Leaders

Message for GVM Parents:

  • Car riders:

    • Parents dropping off/picking up students from the north should enter the carline at Central Avenue and proceed southbound on 6th Street South. Please ensure you do not block either the roadway or bicycle lane while stopped.
    • Parents dropping off/picking up students from the southern neighborhoods of the city should enter the carline at 8th Street South traveling westbound on 4th Avenue South. Please ensure you do not block the width of the roadway while stopped.
    • Buses will be entering off Central Avenue traveling south on 6th Street South and turning left onto 1st Avenue South entering the bus drop-off. Parents leaving after drop off/pick up should avoid turning right on 1st Avenue South as buses will be using this route (shown in black on the map below).

    • Students walking should, as always, cross at appropriate intersections. The nearest signalized intersection is Central Avenue and 9th Street North (Tamiami Trail). Students should use the sidewalk on the south side of Central Avenue to the library sidewalk on 7th Street South.

NOTE: Eighth Street South is closed because of construction. Third Avenue South and 1st Avenue South are not passable at 8th Street South. Central Avenue is not affected by the closure other than southbound on 8th Street South.

All students who are eligible for bus transportation are highly recommended to utilize this service to avoid congestion during drop off/pick up. Please see the map below for further suggestions.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process, being a part of our “Campaign of Kindness” in looking out for each other. It is truly an honor to serve as principal at Gulfview, and our entire staff is looking forward to a great year!

  • Message from Principal Kristina Lee

Principal Kristina Lee “It is truly an honor to welcome you to Gulfview Middle School. As the original school site in Naples, Gulfview is rich in history and special traditions, a school that students and staff alike are proud to be associated with and belong to.  As principal of Gulfview Middle School, is my pleasure to work alongside an amazing group of talented and dedicated teachers, support staff, students, families, as well as the surrounding community.  The unwavering commitment to academic achievement is reflected in our “A” rated status since 2001.  Alongside high academic expectations that our staff and students set for themselves, we have equally high expectations for behavior, having earned a Gold rating as a Positive Behavior Support “Model School” for several years in a row.  Our entire school organization works together to meet the academic as well as physical needs of our students.  Middle school is a unique time in a student’s life; it is a time where academic foundations are challenged and solidified, character is molded, friendships are forged, and the opportunity to inspire our future leaders is presented. We are privileged to be a part of this time with our past, present, and future Gulfview Panthers!”

  • GVM Back to School Helpful Reminders

    • Open House: On August 12th, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, we will host an open house for any incoming 6th grade student and any 7th or 8th grade student new to Gulfview.   All 6th grade families or families with students new to Gulfview are cordially invited to attend!
    • Supplies: In consideration of your time and resources, we do not have a supply list distributed. At the secondary level, there are different requirements from a wide range of courses, as well as diversity in teacher requests. As supplies needed are dependent upon course placement and teachers your student is scheduled with, it is problematic to generate a generic list that fits all students and all courses. You can purchase a few basics ahead of time if you desire to take advantage of summer deals, however the only thing your student will need the first day of school is a pencil and a notebook.  Each teacher will go over expectations and requirements for their courses, understanding of the fact that it will take a few days (or through the weekend) for parents to have the opportunity to purchase supplies.
    • Dress Code: Speaking of summer shopping, if you are purchasing clothing for your growing student, please refer to dress code requirements on our website.
    • Cell Phones: We also want to share a friendly reminder to all families in regards to electronic devices.  Students will be required to power down and stow away their cell phones/electronic devices from the time the school day officially begins (8:55) to dismissal (3:50).
    • Curriculum Night: Save the date!! 2019 GVM Curriculum Night will be held on August 29th at 6:30 pm.
