Poinciana Elementary School

Today's Learners - Tomorrow's Leaders

    • Our Read-a-thon fundraiser has begun and will continue through October 2nd! This is a great opportunity to support our students so please go to https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/3537333435 to sign your child up! We have started logging in reading minutes, so all your child has to do is READ, READ, READ!

      • School will be closed September 25th and 26th for students.

      • Pajama Day will be held on September 29th. Students may wear appropriate pajamas and bring a small stuffed animal to read to during our schoolwide Read-a-thon Day.

      • Our SAC and PTO meetings will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd at 5:00 and 6:00 pm in the Media Center. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month.

      • October 5th is an Early Release Day. This means that students will be dismissed at 11:50 am. Students will receive their lunch time on all Early Release Days.

      • Picture Day is October 6th. Be on the lookout for order forms coming home with your child soon!

Message from Principal Georgie Elgin

  • School Principal"It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the Principal of Poinciana Elementary School.  My experience in Collier County spans over 25 years as a teacher, Reading Coach, Intervention Support Specialist and Administrator.  My passion is to serve students while leading all stakeholders in a way that establishes a collaborative climate to enhance instructional strategies.  My vision is for our students to become strategic thinkers, proficient readers and problem solvers so they will be able to SHINE in every life situation as lifelong learners.  I greatly value the partnerships with our parents and the community and invite you to consider one of the many ways to become involved in our school, such as through SAC (School Advisory Council), PTO (Parent Teacher Organization), or volunteering on campus. Stay connected and see the great things happening at PES by following us on Twitter @PoincianaCCPS."
