Welcome to Tommie Barfield Elementary School, where our students are Respectful, Responsible, Leaders! It is an honor to be the principal of this historic school with such dedicated students, staff, parents, and community members. Nestled in the center of beautiful Marco Island, Tommie Barfield Elementary stands as a Leader in Me School where our students learn and practice The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Each day, our students are provided opportunities to lead around campus. TBE teachers and staff take initiative in leading by example, and continuously work to deliver engaging instruction in a positive learning environment. Our long standing traditions offer unique experiences and opportunities for all students and families! There are several ways to support our school, such as joining our School Advisory Council (SAC), Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), or volunteering! Stay connected with everything happening in and around our campus by following us @TommieBarfield on Twitter.

TBE Curriculum Night 2021
Dear Parents,
As we approach Curriculum Night, we want to take this opportunity to invite you to attend and learn about your child’s curriculum and be able to meet your child’s teacher.
🏫 The live event will be on Tuesday, September 14th from 4:30-5:15 for grades Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd and from 5:15-6:00 for grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th. We would also ask, if possible, to limit the number of persons from each family who will be attending this event. Preferably, one parent per child would attend in the classroom. In addition, we kindly ask students/children do not attend. These health precautions will help limit the number of people in classrooms and our school. In being part of this event, we ask that everyone be mindful of social distancing. We also encourage those in attendance to wear a 😷 mask. This is not a requirement but a request for the well-being of all to maintain a healthy environment for our students and staff.
💻📳 As an alternative for attending in person, your child’s teacher will send information about how to watch a video presentation using the Canvas Learning Platform. Whether you attend in person or watch via video, you will receive the necessary classroom expectations and curriculum highlights to support your child this year.
Again, for those parents who decide not to attend or are unable to attend, a video message from your child’s teacher will be shared following our Curriculum Night in the Canvas Learning Platform. Your involvement in your child’s education increases academic achievement and creates a positive influence on your child’s attitude and behavior.
