• Enrichment focuses on cultural arts to round out our children’s education. At PME, we have a very active schedule of field trips and school assemblies to expose our children to theater, opera, music and other cultures. Without funds from PTO fundraisers these enrichment activities would not be possible.
    Grade Level Field Trips:  TBD
After school reading program: The PTO pays for this program that provides additional reading assistance for students in need.
Pelican PlantersAn organic garden that teaches students about the benefits of growing fresh produce while providing real-world learning opportunities to enrich their classroom experience. Weekly garden lessons are overseen and managed by PTO volunteers.
5th Grade Celebration: We hold a celebration for our 5th graders who are moving on to the middle school. Planning starts early for this big event. We encourage 5th and 4th grade parents to help with this fun evening.
Health Screening: The School District conducts annual student screenings for weight, vision and hearing tests with volunteer help from the school.
Odyssey of the Mind: This academic program consists of teams of students working together to develop problem solving and team building skills. Competitions are held in March. An informational meeting is held in the fall to answer questions and get families involved.
Book Fair: The Media Center coordinates two book fairs each year where students and families can purchase books during the school day. Many volunteers are needed to support this activity.
