The students of Pelican Marsh Elementary attend physical education class two times per week, each session being 50 minutes. Students are instructed on the importance and benefits of a healthy lifestyle through exercise and proper diet. In addition to fitness related activities and instruction, students also practice skill related activities to improve coordination, balance and agility. Students are expected to learn and demonstrate the importance of sportsmanship teamwork and cooperation through small and large group activities.
Some of the activities and skills practiced include: fitness exercises, jump rope, over and underhand throwing technique, body movements, jogging sprinting, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and golf skills.
