• Guest Teacher/Assistant Restrictions

When a Collier County Public Schools guest teacher or guest assistant does not meet the requirements and standards set forth for them, the guest teacher/assistant may lose the right to work assignments at the school.

If guest teachers/assistants do not perform as expected, the school may request that the guest teacher/assistant restricted and be placed on a Do Not Call list. If this happens, the guest teacher/assistant will be notified by the guest teacher/assistant program specialist.

Please note, district administrative procedure states all guest teachers/assistants are subject to restriction/termination based on administrator input with the following consequences:

    • First occurrence – Guest teachers/assistants are required to retake/take online training. Aesop will be re-activated upon successful completion of on-line training.
    • Second occurrence – Guest teachers/assistants are required to shadow two different teachers. Aesop will be re-activated upon completion of shadowing two (2) teachers.
    • Third occurrence – Guest teachers/assistants will be removed entirely from the guest teacher/assistant list and dismissed from employment.

This unfortunate situation does occur from time to time AND is based on the need for all employees to be accountable for the safety, welfare, and academic achievement of district students.

Also, a guest teacher/assistant may be dismissed for any single specific action that is determined to warrant dismissal by the Human Resources Department.
