Test Information Guides
Test Information Guides are available for free online. For a full list of electronic test information guides that are available now, go to the FTCE/FELE contractor's website.
Effective January 2019, the written-performance sections of select Test Information Guides (General Knowledge Test, English 6–12, Middle Grades English 5–9, and the Florida Educational Leadership Examination) have been updated to include an additional writing sample item with a sample passing response and a sample not-passing response. Each sample response includes rationale that cross-reference the scoring criteria and may also include annotations that reference performance characteristics used in evaluating written responses. Additionally, effective March 2019, select Test Information Guides (Professional Education Test and General Knowledge Test—English Language Skills and Mathematics subtests) have been updated to include additional sample multiple-choice questions.

Additional Information and Resources from Florida Department of Education
- There is a new addition to the Postsecondary Assessment pages of the FLDOE website, FTCE/FELE: At a Glance. This new section provides answers to questions most often asked by examinees and stakeholders about broad FTCE/FELE program topics.
- Also new, Appendix G of the 2018 FTCE/FELE Annual Administration and Technical Report presents data reports relating to the FTCE/FELE outcomes of state-approved teacher preparation programs, including program vs. non-program pass rate statistics. (A narrative summary of Appendix G is provided beginning on page 21.)
- Effective January 2019, the Essay Subtest section of the Test Information Guide for the General Knowledge (GK) Test has been updated to include an additional prompt with a sample passing response and a sample not-passing response. Each sample response includes rationale that cross-reference the scoring criteria and also includes annotations that reference performance characteristics used in evaluating written responses. Similar resources are also available for FTCE English 6–12, FTCE Middle Grades English 5–9, and the Florida Educational Leadership Examination .
- Effective March 2019, General Knowledge and Professional Education Test Information Guides have been updated to include additional sample multiple-choice questions. Notably, the Test Information Guide for the Professional Education Test has been expanded to include 90 multiple-choice sample questions.
- As of April 22, 2019, FTCE test fees have been reduced for first attempts and/or retake attempts as part of a new fee structure approved by the State Board of Education.
