    Transport 4 Collier

    Transport 4 Collier is a 5-week training course that includes a classroom component and behind-the-wheel training requirement for non-CDL holders. To be eligible for the program, candidates must be 18 and older, and interested in a career in the transportation industry.

    The training is free and upon completion of the program, qualified drivers hired by the district into full-time positions can earn $22.43 an hour and receive district-provided health insurance at no cost to the employee.

    Starting Salary

    • $22.43 / hr (base, pus years of experience)
      • The following supplements will be added to the hourly rate: 
        • Four Year Degree ($1.25) Bachelors (Arts or Science)
        • Two Year College Degree ($.75) Associate (Arts or Science)
        • Additional supplements based on certifications/licensure

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience or training is not required – We’ll help you to become a certified School Bus Driver!
    • Must have a CDL permit with passenger endorsement and school bus endorsement before starting training.

    Responsibilities

    • Complies with all laws, regulations, rules and directives promulgated by state agencies, School Board policies, and the Transportation Department concerning bus drivers and or related matters.
    • Operates any and all vehicles used by CCPS to transport students.
    • Works a split shift as required by Department operational needs.
    • Maintains acceptable attendance in accordance
    • Maintain the requirements established for certified School Bus Drivers including State requirements for dexterity tests and emergency evacuation procedures
