The iTECH English Language Learners program offers beginning to advanced students a rigorous and relevant curriculum to enhance their command of the English language through listening, speaking, reading, and writing accompanied by critical thinking skills enabling students to thrive in the real world.

Immokalee Technical College’s ELL program is designed to teach students to speak, read, and write English fluently so that they may enter the job market, study to earn a GED, and/or enroll in vocational certificate training programs geared toward employment in high wage, high demand occupations. Students are taught Florida Department of Education approved standards by State certified teachers in an inviting classroom-laboratory setting using state of the art technology along with printed materials. Group instruction and conversational English sessions, as well as individualized self-paced assignments and computerized lessons enable students to learn English with ease. Informative programs hosted by guest speakers from business and industry, government, civic groups, and private non-profit organizations stimulate the course content and provide students the opportunity to meet and interact with community leaders.
Program Length:
The length of time is determined by individual need, daily attendance, and persistence.
Program Schedule:
Day program: Mon-Fri from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Evening program: Mon-Thurs from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

ELL Levels:
The following table illustrates the levels in the ELL program. Students earn Literacy Completion Points (LCPs) as they advance a level by mastering reading and listening assessments on the Comprehensive Student Assessment Systems (CASAS) exam.
Student receive recognition certificates as they complete each level and advance to the next.
Advanced students may have the opportunity to prepare a portfolio containing a resume, certificates, and other essential documents.

Program Pre-requisites:
- The ELL program is open to individuals 16 years of age and older.
- School age youth must be officially withdrawn from the K-12 system.
- Individuals complete the Comprehensive Student Assessment Systems (CASAS) exam to determine appropriate class placement.
Program Cost: $30 per semester/session (Fall and Winter semesters/Summer session)
The $30 tuition is not pro-rated. An ELL student may register at any time during the semester/session; however, the tuition is $30 regardless of the time remaining.
