JROTC Program Information
The U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) is one of the largest character development and citizenship programs for youth in the world. The National Defense Act of 1916 established organized JROTC programs at public and private educational institutions. A major goal of the JROTC program is to "instill in students in United States secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, and personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment." JROTC’s mission, "To Motivate Young People to be Better Citizens", is the guide post for the program’s success
US ARMY JUNIOR ROTC - Application & Certification Process
**must be completed PRIOR to CCPS application**
Application is submitted to JQUIP
- JQUIP requires a Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) Defense Self Service Logon (DS-Logon) account.
If you do not have an account, you may register on the login page.- Incomplete applications will be purged from JQUIP within 30 days of inactivity or 120 days after creation of application if not submitted.
- Must be submitted via US Army JROTC specifications
- Applicant MUST NOT be retired more than five years from date of application or earlier than six months from retirement before applying.
- Online Training - Good Teacher Ethics Training Course Certificate
- Applicants must complete an interview conducted by a certified interviewer after receiving notification from Cadet Command - list of interviewers to be provided

CCPS JROTC Instructor Information
Collier County Public Schools currently has eight (8) Junior ROTC programs. Each of the CCPS JROTC programs is staffed with 2 instructors, and there are between 100 and 150 cadets in each program. CCPS cadets volunteer close to 20,000 hours each year to their schools and their community. Those volunteer opportunities have helped many cadets receive Florida Bright Futures Scholarships.
If becoming a CCPS JROTC Instructor is something you may be considering, review the main prerequisites below before submitting your application:
- All applicants must be fully certified by U.S. Army Cadet Command (USACC) to teach JROTC
- Applicants must currently be teaching an Army JROTC course or possess an Initial Certification letter from USACC
- Noncommissioned Officers must be retired from the Army in the grades of E-6 through E-9
- Warrant Officers must be retired from the Army in grade W-5
- Commissioned Officers must be retired from the Army in the grades of W-1 through W-5 or O-3 through O-6
Cadets participate in a myriad of co-curricular activities to demonstrate their attainment of lesson outcomes. Therefore, in addition to classroom instruction, there are a number of additional activities that JROTC instructors will be required to complete outside of the regular school hours:
- Raider Challenge
- JROTC Leadership Challenge (JCLC)
- JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB)
- Precision and Exhibition Military Drill Competitions
- Weekend Camps
- Physical Training
- Holiday Parades and Ceremonies (Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day, etc)
