- Scholarships Connector: https://www.swflscholarships.org/finder/
This is a search tool for local scholarships. Many but not all of them use the same application. The instructions under the scholarship will inform you if there are other expectations. Since the tool is not always updated, I suggest ordering your matches according to date. Those with dates in the future are set so they do not have to continue updating.

Thinking you will never get a scholarship because your GPA is low...FIDELITY SCHOLARS is for you!
60 scholarships will be given in Florida alone and you cannot have more than a 3.5 GPA.
This pays everything that you would owe outside of the SAI (the part of FAFSA it shows the family can afford) for tuition AND room and board for up to 4 years
The program is open to historically under-resourced and underrepresented students who are permanent residents of Florida.
• 2.5 - 3.5 unweighted GPA or GED (You may not have your AA completed already)
• Pell eligible and/or demonstrate financial need
• Attend an in-state college or university (Public or private)If you qualify, DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!
Looking for Scholarships?
It's impossible to know every scholarship, but I did want to remind you of a good website to search for scholarships that match you: https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cfccscholarship
- https://www.swflscholarships.org/finder/ This is for local scholarships. There is one application for many of these. It is from the Community Foundation and it is here: https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cfccscholarship
- Contact universities that have accepted you or in which you are interested to see what they offer.
- StudentScholarships.org I have found some here that are legitimate, but I cannot speak to every scholarship listed.
- For Juniors and Seniors: Big Future Scholarship (https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/pay-for-college/bigfuture-scholarships?excmpid=oc487-st-09-ss) There have been several students at LWTHS that won $500 this year. Some of those are not yet collected, so check them out.
- Bright Futures https://www.floridastudentfinancialaidsg.org/PDF/FAS-FMS.pdf This will out line the requirements for the scholarship. Do not assume you get it because you have successfully completed the requirements, you must complete the FFAA before August 31. This is not the same as the FAFSA.
- Other state grants, including one for First Generation College Students, are found here: https://www.floridastudentfinancialaidsg.org/SAPHome/SAPHome?url=home
- The Founders Scholarship Fund is here: https://www.thefoundersfundinc.org/scholarship-information/
- The Rotary Club of Naples sponsors a scholarship that will help with an Associate's Degree or a technical program: https://rotarynaples.org/learn2earn/
- For Juniors and Seniors: Common App offers a scholarship and many of you use it anyway to apply to universities: https://studentscholarships.org/scholarship/20665/common-app-scholarship
- TheDream.US Scholarship for undocumented students: https://www.thedream.us/scholarships/national-scholarship/
These are just examples of some of the scholarships out there.
When looking for scholarships, consider:
- What makes me different? (To narrow the applicants)
- Are they renewable?
- Do I meet every criterion? (Do not waste your time if you do not)
- Is this a local or national scholarship? (There is a better chance to get a local scholarship, because there will be fewer applicants)
- Can I defer it if I have all my expenses covered for my first year?
Scholarship.com & College Vine
At times, I will send out some scholarships that are available at Scholarships.com
At any time, you can go there to research your own scholarships as well. If researching on your own, please be sure it is legitimate by checking with your counselor or trying a trusted 3rd party platform (Like College Board) to check. There is also a parent tab on the website.
There are some ideas of how to use the website located here:
Another good website is CollegeVine. There are a few tools on the site that may help you along your path.
