In the realm of high school sports, there are always those exceptional athletes who transcend the ordinary, leaving an indelible mark on the field, court, or mat. That’s true for our next group of District All-Stars. Their dedication, talent, and unwavering determination inspire teammates and fans alike. Their achievements not only bring glory to their schools but also serve as a beacon of inspiration for future generations of athletes. Today, we honor and celebrate the following remarkable individuals for their unparalleled skill, relentless drive, and undeniable passion for their sport.

Braden Turner
Aubrey Rogers High School
Sophomore Braden Turner is the "lead leg" on the 4x800m track and field relay team at Aubrey Rogers High School. Braden was a key member of this year’s team, which earned a State Tournament appearance, finishing 6th place. It was at the State Championship race where Braden ran his fastest split of the year with a time of 2:00.01. We look forward to seeing what he accomplishes next year!

Nora Atkins
Barron Collier High School
Senior Nora Atkins played beach and indoor volleyball for the Lady Cougars at Barron Collier High School. In her only year of beach volleyball, Nora and her partner captured the Collier County Athletic Conference (CCAC) and District Championships! She was also a key member of the two-time indoor volleyball State runner-up teams (2022, 2023). Nora is a National Merit Finalist and served as co-captain of the school’s Scholar Bowl team.

Josey Ryder
Everglades City School
Sophomore Josey Ryder is a talented catcher on the Lady Gators softball team at Everglades City School. Josey led the team in batting average (.722), home runs (2), RBIs (11), and on-base percentage (.833). She was just as strong defensively with her ability to block softballs and throw runners out on base with her strong arm. Coaches say Josey not only led the team with talent and effort, but she also demonstrated strong moral character on and off the field.

Maria Acosta
Golden Gate High School
Senior Maria Acosta played golf and competed as a shortstop/pitcher on the softball team at Golden Gate High School. Maria was a #1 singles player on the golf team and the lowest scorer to par. She also achieved a personal best 180 yard drive off the tee this season. On the softball field, Maria was the Lady Titans’ most versatile player and one of the team’s best pitchers. This dual-enrolled student recently graduated and plans to deploy into the Army this summer.

Kala Valeiras
Gulf Coast High School
Sophomore Kala Valeiras is a sprinter in multiple events on the Gulf Coast High School girls track and field team. Kala set 4 school records this year in the 400m (57.85), the 4x400m relay (4:15.72), the 100m dash (12.55), and the 200m dash (25.34). She also became a District Champion and qualified for the 3A State Finals earlier this year. This Student-Athlete Leadership and Student Government member will travel to Argentina this summer to train with hopes of representing her country in the Olympics someday.

Chandron Pierre
Immokalee High School
Senior Chandron Pierre was a dual-sport athlete at Immokalee High School. He competed in the 400m hurdles on the boys track and field team and as a wide receiver on the Indian's football team. In the 400m hurdles, Chandron won both the Collier County Athletic Conference (CCAC) Championship (56.98) and the District Championship (56.90). As a wide receiver, he helped lead the Indians to a District Championship and finished the season with a team-leading 28 receptions for 523 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Love Guens Avena
Lely High School
Senior Love Guens Avena was a member of the Lely High School track and field team. He competed in the hurdles, triple jump, 4x400m relay, and the 4x100m relay, winning the District Championship in both the triple jump and the 4x400m relay this year. Love Guens also had a good showing at the 3A State Championship, earning an 8th place finish in the triple jump and a 15th place finish as an anchor for the 4x400m relay team. Coaches say that Love Guens always tries to do the right thing on and off the track and served as a true leader for his teammates.

Ricky Garcia
Naples High School
Senior Ricky Garcia ran cross country at Naples High School (NHS) and served as a mid-fielder on the Eagles' soccer team. His work on the cross-country team led to Conference, District, and Regional Championships as well as a State Runner-Up finish this season. On the soccer field, he scored a total of 4 points, including 2 goals, and helped NHS capture a Regional Championship. Ricky graduated with a 5.2 weighted GPA and plans to attend Florida State University this fall.

Samantha Strahle
Palmetto Ridge High School
Junior Samantha Strahle is a multi-sport athlete at Palmetto Ridge High School (PRH), competing in cross country, track and field, and weightlifting. Samantha owns the 5th fastest time (19:52) in cross country at PRH, qualified for States in weightlifting with Olympic and Traditional total lifts of 280Ibs and 290Ibs respectively, and broke a 10-year girls school record when she ran the 800m race at 2:23.4. Coaches say Samantha shows others the path to success, in athletics and in the classroom.

Akhil Nimmagadda & Paul Barrus
Aubrey Rogers High School
Paul Barrus and Akhil Nimmagadda are teammates on the #1 doubles tennis team for Aubrey Rodgers High School. Paul (sophomore) is a #1 singles player; while Akhil (junior) is a #2 singles player. Both won District and Regional titles in their respective singles groups this season, while also earning doubles championships at both tournaments. Paul and Akhil were runners-up in #1 doubles at the State Championship and finished their season with a 15-4 record.

Liusmar Rivas Velasquez
Barron Collier High School
Junior Liusmar Rivas Velasquez runs hurdles on the girls track and field team at Barron Collier High School. She is ranked 2nd in the 3A Region in both the 400m hurdles (best time of 56.73) and the 100m hurdles (best time of 14.47). Liusmar is a Conference and District Champion in the 100m hurdles, 4x100 relay, and the 4x400 relay. She is also a strong player on the Lady Cougars basketball team and works hard in the classroom, earning a 3.3 GPA.

Jalen Mayberry
Everglades City School
Jalen Mayberry is a freshman outfielder on the Everglades City School varsity softball team. Defense is Jalen’s specialty, where she posts an efficient .800 fielding percentage. Coaches say Jalen is also solid on the offense, earning a .471 on-base percentage with 12 runs scored, 3 RBIs, and 17 stolen bases so far this season. Jalen demonstrates a strong work ethic and sound leadership skills, which are valued by her Lady Gator teammates.

Malachi Fils-Aime
Golden Gate High School
Malachi Fils-Aime is a senior at Golden Gate High School. This key member of the boys track and field team is one of the best shot put and discus throwers in the area. He has recorded a personal best distance of 13.91m in the shot put, 33.43m in the discus, and placed first in the Fort Myers Green Wave meet earlier this season. Malachi has also been a solid offensive and defensive lineman for the Titans who constantly pushes his teammates to be the best they can be.

Zach Lewis
Gulf Coast High School
Zach Lewis is an outstanding junior lacrosse player at Gulf Coast High School. He has scored 40 goals with 17 assists, won 145 ground balls (#7 nationally), and has a .769 faceoff win percentage (#30 nationally). In fact, Zach helped lead the Sharks to a third Conference and District Championship this season. Coaches say his work ethic is contagious, and his versatility creates vast opportunities for his teammates. He’s strong in the classroom as well, earning a 4.6 GPA.

Brianice Silguero
Immokalee High School
Senior Brianice Silguero is a talented third baseman and team captain on the Lady Indians softball team at Immokalee High School. In the District, Brianice ranks in the top five in four categories: #3 in batting average (.564); #3 in homeruns (2); #4 in RBIs (18); and #4 in on-base percentage (.625). She currently leads the team in doubles, earning five so far this season. Brianice is heading to Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) this fall to continue her success on the softball field.

Brooke Bledsoe
Lely High School
Sophomore Brooke Bledsoe is an excellent shortstop on the Lady Trojans varsity softball team at Lely High School. Brooke is batting .659 with 4 home runs and is 14-14 on stolen base attempts so far this season. Her defense is just as strong with 41 putouts, 39 assists, and 3 double plays. Brooke excels in the classroom as well, posting a 4.46 GPA in all honors classes and participating in the school’s Aviation Academy.

Meaghan McKernan
Naples High School
Senior Meaghan McKernan runs hurdles and throws the javelin on the girls track and field team at Naples High School. She currently holds two school records for the Golden Eagles: 400m hurdles (1:08.23) and the javelin throw (27.28m). Off the track, she is vice president of Student Government and earns a weighted 5.2 GPA. Meaghan plans to attend Clemson University in the fall where she will be a member of the Clemson Crew.

Jeremy Walsh
Palmetto Ridge High School
Junior Jeremy Walsh is a three-year varsity member of the boys lacrosse team at Palmetto Ridge High School (PRHS). Jeremy is having a phenomenal season for the Bears, scoring 33 goals, dishing out 10 assists, and winning 63 ground balls in just 11 games. Last season, Jeremy scored the winning goal in a record-setting 7 overtime win over Taravella High School. He is also a member of the PRHS Marching Pride and earns a 4.0 GPA in the classroom.

Kiley Frearson
Aubrey Rogers High School
Sophomore Kiley Frearson is a mid-fielder and draw specialist on the Aubrey Rogers High School girls varsity lacrosse team. So far this season, she has scored 7 goals and is a menace on defense, creating 10 turnovers. She also earned a school record with 25 draw controls. Coaches say this young leader embodies the definition of a great teammate both on and off the field.

Ava Zehnder
Barron Collier High School
Senior Ava Zehnder plays both indoor and beach volleyball at Barron Collier High School. A part of the indoor volleyball squad the past 4 years, she helped the Cougars earn 2 State runner-up finishes in Class 5A. She also holds the school record for most assists in a single season (898) and most career assists (2,334). Ava is currently undefeated in her first year playing beach volleyball, leading the team in service aces (4.5 per game). This National Honor Society member also boasts a 5.28 weighted GPA in the classroom.

Ava Ramos
Everglades City School
Ava Ramos is a freshman standout on the Everglades City School softball team. She is enjoying a tremendous season so far, batting .562 with 6 RBIs, 21 stolen bases, and 16 runs scored. Ava also shows her versatility by playing both infield and outfield and posts an efficient .833 fielding percentage. Coaches say she has stepped up her leadership role and is a driving force for the Lady Gators.

Eslynda Bouzi
Golden Gate High School
Sophomore Eslynda Bouzi is a triple-threat on the Golden Gate High School girls track and field team, competing in the 200m (personal best 26.75), 400m (personal best 1:03.81), and long jump (personal best 15’ 6”). She recently placed 2nd in the 100m and 200m at the Lely Freshman/Sophomore meet and placed 3rd in the long jump at the Tarpon meet. Eslynda is also a key member of the Lady Titan varsity basketball team, averaging 13.5 points per game this past season.

Will Brockmeier
Gulf Coast High School
Senior Will Brockmeier is a dual-sport athlete at Gulf Coast High School, competing in track and field as well as football. At the Dunbar meet earlier this season, he surpassed his personal best javelin throw by 17 feet! As a defensive end on the football field, he completed 72 tackles (41 solo) with 9 sacks and had 5 caused fumbles. Will is committed to Army next fall to play football.

Immokalee High School
Senior Ivan Jimenez is an avid goalscorer on the boys varsity lacrosse team at Immokalee High School. So far this season, Ivan has racked up 33 goals with 7 assists from his mid-fielder position. He had a huge win against Marco Island Academy, scoring 9 goals in the game, which is the 4th highest goal-scoring game in Indian history! Coaches say Ivan is a true leader both on the field and in the classroom.

Lely High School
Senior Tabatha Ubertaccio is a team captain and mid-fielder on the girls varsity lacrosse team at Lely High School. This incredible player is leading the team in goals - scoring 40 so far this season - and has a total of 97 career goals thus far. Tabatha works hard in the classroom as well, earning a 5.0 weighted GPA while being a part-time dual-enrollment student and taking AP classes.

Naples High School
Carlos Correa is a senior team captain on the Naples High School boys varsity tennis team. He plays #1 singles and #1 doubles for the Golden Eagles, leading his team to a 10-3 record so far this season. Individually, he’s having a remarkable season, winning 13 of his last 17 matches. Coaches say Carlos is always leading by example with his great work ethic and leadership skills. He’s strong in the classroom as well, earning a 4.8 weighted GPA.

Palmetto Ridge High School
Senior Hayle Peck is a member of the Palmetto Ridge High School girls wrestling team. She competes in the 105Ib weight class and finished her final year with a record of 29-11, placing 2nd at Districts, 2nd at Regionals, and 5th at the State tournament. Coaches say Hayle has shown great determination in the sport of wrestling, improving year over year. She’s also impressive in the classroom as a dual-enrollment student, earning a 4.7 weighted GPA.

Aubrey Rogers High School
Freshman Bekim Zherka competes in the 120Ib weight class on the boys varsity wrestling team at Aubrey Rogers High School. He had an outstanding year for the Patriots, posting a 32-6 record with 21 pins (2nd in the Collier County Athletic Conference). He recently won the North Fort Myers Championship tournament and took home his first Individual District Championship. Fun fact: Bekim is one of four quadruplets who compete on the team.

Barron Collier High School
Madison Knoth is a team captain on the girls varsity tennis team at Barron Collier High School. Madison is undefeated so far this season, earning a 4-0 record playing #2, #3, and #4 singles. The outstanding senior is also 3-0 as a #1 and #2 doubles player and has helped the Lady Cougars to a 4-0 overall team record to start the season.

Everglades City School
Katie Collins is a senior team captain on the Everglades City School softball team. She is off to a great start so far this season, posting a .375 batting average with 3 RBI's. Katie is stellar in the field as well showing off her glove with a 100% fielding percentage from her first-base position. Coaches say Katie's strongest attributes are her speed, strong bat, and overall knowledge of the game.

Golden Gate High School
Senior Johnny Charles competes in the 215Ib weight class and is a team captain on the Golden Gate High School boys varsity wrestling team. Johnny had a great final year for the Titans, finishing with a 31-7 record that included a District Championship. Coaches say Johnny leads by example through his exceptional performance in matches and by cultivating teamwork, perseverance, and respect within the wrestling program. He's also a pretty stellar outside linebacker on the football team, where he had 87 total tackles and 4 QB sacks!

Hannah Rearden is a talented sophomore catcher on the Gulf Coast High School softball team. In the season's home opener, Hannah went 5-5 with 3 RBI's, contributing to an incredible start for the Lady Sharks. The biggest highlight came when Hannah blasted the game-winning home run! She is coming off a great freshman season as well, batting .308 with 12 total hits and fielding .870.

Senior Marnelle Laguerre is a center/mid-fielder on the Lady Indians girls lacrosse team at Immokalee High School. Marnelle was the driving force behind the team's first victory in over 2 seasons, scoring 6 of the team's 14 points in a win against the Village School of Naples. She excels in the classroom as well, maintaining a weighted 3.8 GPA.

Lely High School
Richmyer Celiferme is a senior team captain on the Lely High School (LHS) boys varsity wrestling team. He competes in the 150Ib weight class where he finished the season 49-14. Richmyer was a Collier County Athletic Conference runner-up and had a District 12 runner-up finish. He completed his season at the Regional Championships where he placed 5th. In his spare time, Richmyer assists the LHS athletic trainer with other sports and works with school organizations to volunteer in the community.

Naples High School
Cason Shepard is a senior captain on the Naples High School boys varsity soccer team. He had a fantastic season, netting 14 goals and dishing out 7 assists. Cason helped lead the Golden Eagles to a Regional Championship, earning the team a trip to the 5A State Championship tournament. He is also a nominee for All-Region, All-State, and Academic All-American honors. Cason ranks in the top 4% of his class and earns a 5.19 weighted GPA.

Palmetto Ridge High
Senior Calven Charles is a 3-year varsity player and team captain on the Palmetto Ridge High School Bears basketball team. From his guard position, Calven fills the stat sheet, averaging 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 blocks per game and scoring a season-high 34 points in a victory against East Lee County. Coaches say Calven is being heavily recruited and expect him to continue his basketball career in college next season.

Junior Samantha Mey is a tenacious defender from her guard position on the Lady Patriots girls varsity basketball team at Aubrey Rogers High School. Samantha is averaging 7.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. On the defensive end, she is known to shut down the opposing team's key shooters, collecting 76 steals so far this season! #CCPSProud

Barron Collier High School
Junior Spencer Clayton is a team captain on the Cougars varsity basketball team at Barron Collier High School. He is arguably one of the best guards in the area and boasts a 4.74 weighted GPA. In the month of January, Spencer averaged 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists per game, while shooting 85% from the free-throw line. He also had a season high 30-point performance in a win against Central Pointe Academy. #CCPSProud

Senior Teddy Smallwood is an excellent rebounder and defender from his forward/center position on the Everglades City School Gators varsity basketball team. With the great ability to play inside and outside, Teddy is a clutch three-point shooter. In fact, he hit three consecutive 3's in a game earlier this season versus Donahue High School. Chrisna Charlot is a senior team captain and all-around contributor on the Golden Gate High School girls varsity basketball team. Chrisna leads the team in rebounding, averaging 9.2 per game, and posted a double-double with 17 points and 22 rebounds in a win against Immokalee High School. Coaches say Chrisna's biggest strengths are her toughness on defense and her rebounding on both ends of the court. #CCPSProud

Gulf Coast High School
Taegan Mason is a freshman weightlifter at Gulf Coast High School and competes in the 81 Ib weight class. In her first season, she captured the Collier County Athletic Conference (CCAC) title in Traditional and Olympic lifts and became a District Champion. Along the way, she set personal best lifts in the Snatch (60 & 70 Ibs), the Clean (80 & 95 Ibs), and the Bench (85 Ibs). Her win at Districts gave the Sharks their first-ever Individual District Champion in Girls Weightlifting. #CCPSProud

Immokalee High School
Sophomore Ciara Gonzalez is an outstanding weightlifter for the Immokalee High School Lady Indians. Ciara placed first or second in every Olympic and Traditional lift this year, including first place (Traditional) and second place (Olympic) at the Collier County Athletic Conference (CCAC) Championship. She also became a District Champion in both categories at 110 Ibs, is a varsity cheerleader and softball player, and excels in the classroom with a 3.2 GPA. #CCPSProud

Lely High School
Freshman Aoife Bowe is having an incredible season on the varsity soccer team at Lely High School. So far, she's racked up 46 total points with 21 goals and 4 assists. Aoife is ranked top five in the District in goals and assists and has been awarded Player of the Game four times. Just a freshman, Aoife's hard work and leadership have inspired her teammates. She leads in the classroom as well by enrolling in honors and AICE courses and earning a 4.16 GPA. #CCPSProud

Jaden Wolner is a senior guard on the Naples High School (NHS) boys varsity basketball team. He is having a tremendous season so far, averaging 21 points and 8 rebounds per game. Jaden shines off the court as well by volunteering at the NHS Kids Basketball Clinic to help local children improve their basketball skills and carrying a weighted 4.1 GPA in the classroom. #CCPSProud

Melody Charlton is a junior team captain on the Palmetto Ridge girls varsity basketball team. She is one of the best players in District 6A, leading in points per game (14.8) and three-point shooting (37 made 3's). She also earned second in 6A for assists (3.6 per game) and steals (3.3 per game). Her coaches believe Melody has positively impacted her team more than any other girls player in the District. #CCPSProud

Angelina Insana is a sophomore co-captain on the Aubrey Rogers High School girls varsity basketball team. This starting shooting guard, according to her coaches, plays a critical role on this year’s inaugural team. So far this season, Angelina is averaging 12.3 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and has 5 steals. The Lady Patriots are capitalizing on the athletic success of this young lady!

Barron Collier High School
Barron Collier High School’s Kiera Partello is a valuable member of the girls varsity wrestling team and is currently ranked #4 in the state in the 100-pound weight class. This sophomore wrestles like a pro with a record of 14-1 so far, with 13 pins and 1 technical fall. In fact, Kiera has three first place finishes out of four tournaments. The sky is the limit for this talented student-athlete!

Freshman standout Olivia Demere is a tenacious defender from her guard position on the Everglades City School girls varsity basketball team. She is currently the second highest scorer for the Lady Gators, averaging six points and four steals per game. Her coaches say Olivia is the tone-setter on defense, always looking for opportunities to make a key steal or cause a turnover!

Golden Gate High School
Golden Gate High School’s Sam Powell is a strong shooting guard on the boys varsity basketball team. His stat line is very impressive – averaging 19.1 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. This sophomore currently ranks in the top 20 statewide in 3-point field goals made. His coaches believe Sam is arguably the best basketball player in Southwest Florida!

Lilly Fultz, a junior at Gulf Coast High School, is the starting shooting guard on the girls varsity basketball team. She is the Lady Sharks’ leading scorer with an average of 12 points per game; coupled with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals per game – that’s a winning formula! Coaches say one of Lilly's top attributes is her leadership on and off the court. She is also a member of the SALT and Mindset Matters clubs.

Immokalee High School
Junior Anastasia Irizarry is a member of the girls weightlifting team at Immokalee High School and competes in the 139-pound weight class. She has had a remarkable season thus far, setting personal best lifts in the snatch (85 Ibs), clean & jerk (135 Ibs), and bench press (135 Ibs). In fact, this super competitor has taken first or second place in most of her meets – now that’s impressive!

Lely High School
Lely High School’s Sonia Kiritsa is a sophomore power forward on the Lady Trojans’ girls varsity basketball team. She is quite a dominating force on the court, averaging 14 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals per game. While Sonia is new to the country, she hasn’t let that hinder her success. Coaches say this young student-athlete has figured out how to balance athletics and academics beautifully!

Molly Vickaryous is a senior and four-year starter on the Naples High School (NHS) girls varsity soccer team. She is a two-year team captain for the Lady Eagles and has scored four goals with eight total points so far this season from her defenseman position. Molly has also earned a letter in lacrosse for three years. She carries an impressive 4.99 GPA and is President of the NHS Student Government Executive Board.

Alexa Swales
Palmetto Ridge High
Senior Alexa Swales is in her second year of weightlifting for Palmetto Ridge High School (PRH) and is on her way to a stellar season. She is undefeated thus far in the Traditional Weightlifting category and has personal best lifts in the snatch (130 lbs), clean & jerk (170 lbs), and bench press (195 Ibs). Coaches say that Alexa's goal for this year is simple, get back to the 3A state meet and bring home a state title for PRH!

Aubrey Rogers High School
Sophomore Madelyn Hamisch is a stand-out player on the Aubrey Roger High School girl's basketball team. In just her first year playing varsity, this 6’ 3” center dominates her opponents on the court. In the month of November alone, Madelyn averaged 13. 5 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 steal per game. She scored a season-high 21 points in a recent 2-point win over Palmetto Ridge High School. Coaches say Madelyn is integral to the success of the 5-0 Lady Patriots.

Edin Abougzir
Barron Collier High School
Edin Abougzir is an outstanding soccer player at Barron Collier High School, ranked #2 in the District in assists and #16 nationally. The senior team captain has scored three goals with eight assists in six games this season, including being named "Player of the Game" twice. In fact, Edin has already earned a Naples Daily News Player of the Week nomination. Off the soccer field, she is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Key Club. Everglades City School
Junior Gena Collins is a captain of the Everglades City School girls varsity basketball team. Despite not playing all the time, she is an important member of the team and a positive driving force. She is one of only two upperclassmen, and coaches say Gena is a mentor and true leader for her younger underclassmen teammates in practices and during games. She is a three-sport athlete, adding softball and volleyball to her athletic resume for the Lady Gators.

Gregory Breston
Golden Gate High School
Golden Gate High School’s Gregory Breston is a senior kicker on the Titans football team. He finished #1 in the state this season with 4,085 total kickoff yards and 40 of his 68 kickoffs were touchbacks. Additionally, Gregory ranked in the top three for punting, PAT's (point after touchdown), and field goals made. His career-long field goal was from 45 yards, while his longest punt traveled 63 yards. Gregory is pretty good on the soccer field as well, tallying six goals and three assists so far this season.

Gulf Coast High School
Jace Seyler is a junior dual-sport athlete at Gulf Coast High School. He is the starting quarterback on the Sharks' football team and finished the year strong completing 21-38 passes for 415 yards with 5 touchdowns. He added 115 yards rushing on 30 carries with 1 touchdown in his last 2 games. With the start of winter sports, Jace plays guard on the basketball court and is averaging 11 points per game, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds so far this season.

Immokalee High School
Sophomore Leonardo Concepcion is a strong defensive anchor on the boys varsity soccer team at Immokalee High School. This team captain has already racked up 30 steals in just 8 games. Even more impressive, Leonardo has been named the MaxPreps "Player of the Game" three times this season alone. After earning his starting spot on the team last year as a freshman, coaches say that Leonardo has shown great improvement in his leadership skills and level of play.

Lely High School
Lely High School’s Maggie Poling is a junior cross-country runner and had a great season with the Lady Trojans. She set a personal best this season in the 5K when she recorded a time of 21:10 at the FHSAA Class 3A Regional Meet which earned her a top-25 finish and a trip to the state meet in Tallahassee. Maggie is also a member of the drum line and plays basketball and lacrosse. Her strongest contribution is bringing stability and leadership to her teammates.

Annika Andersen
Naples High School
Annika Andersen is a senior on the Naples High School girls varsity basketball team. This shooting guard captain is having an excellent season so far averaging 11.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 2.2 steals per game for the Lady Eagles. Not surprisingly, Annika earned the "Player of the Year" award last year for NHS. She has mastered the very important student-athlete “balance” with consistent top-notch performance in the classroom.

Hayden Clark
Palmetto Ridge High
Junior Hayden Clark is the top runner on the boys cross country team at Palmetto Ridge High School. In just two years after taking up the sport, he has already left his mark with the fifth fastest 5K time ever recorded in the Ridge’s 20-year history – and his own personal best – 15:49:19. This successful runner already has a District Championship under his belt, and according to his coaches, he is the perfect example to his teammates of what one can accomplish with a great work ethic and hard work.

Aubrey Rogers High School
Junior Carter Beebe, from Aubrey Rogers High School, is an outstanding placekicker and punter for the varsity football team. This Patriots kicker has a punting average of 32.29 yards with 4 punts inside the 20 yard line, and his longest punt reached an impressive 55 yards. When it comes to kicking it through the uprights, Carter is 6 for 7 on PAT (point after touchdown) kicks and 5 for 11 on field goal attempts, with his longest field goal right at 41 yards.

Rebecca Van't Hoff
Barron Collier High School
Barron Collier High School’s Rebecca Van't Hoff is a multi-sport, high-performing athlete. On the swimming team, the senior qualified for regionals in five events: 50m free, 100m free, 200m free relay, 200m medley, and 400m free relay. This includes District Championships in the 200m medley relay and 400m free relay. In track and field, Rebecca holds school, county, district, and regional records in the javelin. She is president of the T1D Club, Key Club, and Pre-Med Club – all while carrying a 5.4 GPA!

Everglades City School
Josey Ryder is a sophomore at Everglades City School and is an outside hitter on the varsity volleyball team. She has steadily improved, becoming a much more efficient all-around player this year with an impressive 70% hitting rate, 75% serving rate, and 79% passing rate. According to Josey’s coaches, she has a true passion for the game, always plays to win, and is a steadfast competitor on the court – inspiring her teammates to do the same.

Golden Gate High School
Senior John Lee Honorat, a four-year varsity football player for Golden Gate High School, is an all-around strong contributor for the Titans – playing wide receiver, kick returner, and quarterback. This season alone, John has 77 yards rushing on 7 carries, and 13 catches for 255 yards with 13 total touchdowns! He has a personal record of 1,000 all-purpose yards in a season and no less than 16 Division 1 scholarship offers to continue playing at the next level.

Gulf Coast High School
Gulf Coast High School’s Casey Williams is the libero on the varsity volleyball team. This senior’s incredible playing earned her a place on this year’s Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) All-District 18 team. Casey has 389 digs this season, including 40 in a regional semifinal victory over Braden River High School. She is known for her incredible work ethic and ability to motivate and inspire that same passion in her teammates throughout the toughest of matches.

Immokalee High School
Martin Mendoza, a freshman at Immokalee High School, had a great first year running cross country for the Indians. His three best times for the 5K were 16:32 at the Lehigh Lightning Invitational, 16:11 at the FHSAA 3A District 6 meet, and he set a freshman 5K record of 15:58 at the North Port Invitational. Martin also had a 4th place finish at this year’s Collier County Athletic Conference (CCAC) meet. Coaches are anticipating even bigger things to come from him next year!

Cynthia Powell
Lely High School
Cynthia Powell is a senior and key member of the Lely High School volleyball team. She had an incredible season from her middle blocker position, posting 74 kills. Cynthia had a great game in a win against Gateway Charter School, recording 21 kills and 7 blocks! She excels in the classroom as well, earning a 4.0 GPA as a full-time Dual-Enrollment Student.

Jake Debroux
Naples High School
Naples High School’s Jake Debroux is an outstanding golfer for the Golden Eagles. This senior will graduate in May with two individual championships under his belt. He shot a 66 in the Collier County Athletic Conference (CCAC) Championship to take first place and won the FHSAA Class 2A District 14 Tournament Championship in October with a strong 71 finish. The district win earned Jake the opportunity to compete in the Regional Championship where he also had a strong performance.

Colby Blocker
Palmetto Ridge High School
Colby Blocker, a senior captain on the Palmetto Ridge High School football team, led the defense from his middle linebacker position. This three-year starter had 53 total tackles this season, 33 assisted and 16 solo. He also had three tackles for loss and one quarterback sack. Although Colby battled through most of the season with a leg injury, his coaches say that he was a great inspiration for his teammates – pushing them to always be better!

Sophomore Reese Vetor is a key member of the Aubrey Rogers High School varsity swim team, competing in five different events. At the Collier County Athletic Conference Championship (CCAC) meet, Reese won the 100-meter breaststroke and finished third in the 200-meter individual medley. This strong contributor also swims in several team events: the 200-meter medley relay, 200-meter free relay, and 400-meter free relay.

Barron Collier High School
Barron Collier High School’s Aisha Keric is arguably one of the best volleyball players in the area. Through September, she has 23 aces, 103 kills, 12 blocks, 142 digs, and 4 assists. This senior’s resume is impressive: 2022 SWFL All-Area Volleyball Team honors, Team MVP Award last year at Gulf Coast High, and a 2023 Volleyball Player of the Year Finalist! Aisha shines off the court as well carrying a weighted 4.85 GPA while being a member of the Green Club and a Student Life representative.

Nora Potter is a freshman and team captain on the Everglades City School (EVG) girls cross country team. She is an excellent runner, already earning a state championship appearance last year and holding the school record in the 3K. With three top-20 finishes so far this season, coaches praise Nora’s work ethic, saying she pushes herself to excel and helps her teammates develop their own skills. Nora is a member of student government and the EVG News Crew.

Golden Gate High School
Freshman Miah Galban is quickly becoming a major force on the Golden Gate High School cross country team. Having found her passion for running in sixth grade, she loves to compete against not just others, but herself. In fact, Miah has improved her 5K finishes every time she steps on the track, including a personal best time of 21:43.57. Her coaches say they expect to see this young runner continue to lead her team and grow throughout this season and beyond.

Ciara McCloskey is a junior cross country/track & field athlete at Gulf Coast High School. She had a great September with three strong finishes in the 5K: 38th at the North Port XC Invitational (19:44.5), 11th at the DDD Sommer Invitational (21:13.3), and 4th at the South West Florida Christian – KING’S Invitational (20:18.9). Coaches say Ciara elevates everyone around her and inspires her teammates. She is a member of student government, serves as President of Mindset Matters, and has a 4.6 GPA in the classroom.

Stassy Edouard plays varsity volleyball at Immokalee High School. This junior outside hitter brings a lot of high energy to the team and is a huge supporter of her Lady Indian teammates. Coaches say Stassy is a key member of the team because of her all-around skills and positive energy she brings to the court each and every match.

Lely High School’s Caelan Burt is a captain on the girls swimming team. She is performing at a very high level this season with two recent victories in the 200m individual medley with a time of 2:14.64 and the 100m butterfly with a time of 1:00.48. Caelan excels in team competition as well, helping the relay team post wins in the 200m medley and 200m freestyle relay. This senior is a top performer in the classroom, carrying a 5.08 GPA while taking various college-level courses.

Senior Hector Toro is a member of the Naples High School (NHS) boys cross country/track & field team. He recently broke the school record in the 5K with an impressive time of 15:25.8 at the North Port XC Invitational. Hector is a recipient of the Cross Country MVP Award, Cross Country Underclassman Award, Track & Field Prefontaine Award, and the prestigious NHS Student Athlete Award in 2021. To top it all off, he maintains an unweighted 4.0 GPA in the classroom.

Chloe Walsh is a talented freshman golfer at Palmetto Ridge High School. As a transfer from the east coast, she has transitioned nicely to Collier County golf courses this season. Her consistent high level of play against elite competition has her hopeful of earning a spot in this year's regional championships. Coaches admire Chloe's passion for the game and say she is a high-achieving student in the classroom.

Addie Gurick, a sophomore at Aubrey Rogers High School, is a solid long distance runner on the girls cross country team. She set a school record, posting a time of 20:12.6 at the Lehigh Lightning Invitational in the 5000m run, earning her a top-five finish. Addie followed up with another fifth place finish at the DDD Somer Invitational. She has posted the best time in each of the team's first place finishes.

Barron Collier High School
Barron Collier High School’s Thor Warnken is a senior captain on the boys swimming team. He is performing at a high level so far, winning multiple events in the team’s first two meets: 200m individual medley (214.85), 100m butterfly (55.95), and 100m breaststroke (106.07) – an event he doesn’t normally compete in. Thor has also led team wins in the 200m medley, 200m freestyle, and 400m relays. He is a top performer in the classroom with an impressive 5.14 GPA.

Junior Jayde Freeman, from Everglades City School, is a co-captain and outside hitter on the varsity volleyball team. She is having a fantastic season so far and is the team leader in three different categories: serving (97%), hitting (74%), and passing (73%). According to Jayde’s coaches, she is always working hard to improve her contribution to the team on and off the court, and is an instrumental leader for the Lady Gators.

Autumn Bellamy, a senior at Golden Gate High School, is an outside hitter on the varsity volleyball team and is already putting up some strong numbers. In just the first three games this season, Autumn amassed 30 kills and 3 aces. Most recently, she led the team with 12 kills in a hard-fought, five-set thrilling win on the Titans home court against Oasis High School!

Gulf Coast High School’s Chris Jimenez is a senior football player for the Sharks who excels on both sides of the ball. In the first two games, from his linebacker position on defense, he has racked up 24 tackles (4 for losses), 1 sack, 5 quarterback pressures, and 1 pass break-up. As quarterback, Chris has run for 163 yards with 3 rushing touchdowns and is 5/8 passing for 59 yards. He has earned a scholarship to Stetson University.

Sophomore Justin Compere is off to a quick start for the Immokalee High School football team. In three games, this running back is averaging 14 yards per carry and has run for 395 yards with 5 touchdowns! As a safety, Justin even added a 40-yard fumble return TD. He will easily eclipse his freshman year total of 416 yards and 2 TD's. Coaches say Justin defines “student-athlete” by maintaining a healthy GPA while participating in three sports: football, basketball, and track & field.

Jayvian Tanelus, a sophomore at Lely High School, is a strong defensive player on the varsity football team. He is a dual threat in the running back position, running for 453 yards and 6 touchdowns while also having 2 receptions for 12 yards so far this season. Jayvian is not only a contributor to his team, but volunteers his time to the community through “Project Lead, ” an organization promoting leadership, similar to Key Club – all while carrying a 4.03 GPA in the classroom.
