Hours of operation are from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. Beacon High School students are required to be at school for the full 6 hours each school day. Students are expected to arrive between 6:30 - 7:00 am. They are considered tardy between 7:00 - 7:30 am and will not be admitted after 7:30 am unless a doctor's note is submitted.
Student Attendance

Attendance is monitored on a daily basis at Beacon High School. Excessive absences, tardies, and lack of progress may result in the student being withdrawn from the program. Other diploma options will be discussed with the student and parents if need be.The Florida Department of Education recognizes the following absence codes:
- P Present
- U Absent - Unexcused as defined by district policy
- A Absent - Validated absence by parent or guardian
- E Absent - Excused as defined by district policy (doctor's note provided)
- T Tardy
The School District of Collier County must report to the Florida Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles any student who has accumulated 15 unexcused absences within 90 calendar days or has dropped out of school prior to age 18. Please be aware that drivers under the age of 18 are required to attend school in order to maintain a Florida Driver's License. Lack of attendance may result in the license being revoked.
Grading Policy

The grading scale will be the same as all Collier County Public Schools.
- 90 - 100 = A
- 80 - 89 = B
- 70 - 79 = C
- 60 - 69 = D
All courses are competency-based. Unit tests and cumulative exams must be taken in front of the teacher on record. Handwritten notes can be used during course tests and exams.Report cards are not distributed at Beacon High School due to the students working at their own pace. All grades submitted will appear on FOCUS for students and parents to see.Students are expected to earn 2.0 credits every quarter to remain in good standing. This is equivalent to four classes. Lack of progress will be documented.
