• Canvas LMS Update (November 5, 2020)

With final grade reporting complete as of November 2nd, we will be enabling the grading period option within the Canvas grades to allow teachers and students to view assignments by grading periods.  This system-wide update will occur between 5:00pm – 9:00pm tomorrow, November 5th.  Once the update is complete, teachers and students will be able to filter and view the Canvas grades feature by all grading periods or by a specific grading period.

Following this communication, communications will be shared with Canvas POCs, Focus POCs, and BTCs with an accompanying information sheet on how to utilize this Canvas grades feature.  Additionally, teachers will be notified of this update via a global announcement in Canvas.

The Canvas grades feature is a record-keeping tool in Canvas; Focus is the CCPS official gradebook of record.

To meet the promise of new standards and assessments, state and district education leaders must transform professional learning to prepare and support teachers, teacher leaders, and school administrators for full implementation so that every student succeeds.

Any staff member looking to take on new studies and training can take advantage of courses available in several flexible options, here within Collier County Public Schools. It is possible to attend face-to-face classes, online offerings and/or blended classes that combine some face-to-face meeting time and some online requirements. It cannot be denied that a good education results in better career opportunities!

We in the Department of Professional Development and Learning strive to bring you the resources, tools, and encouragement to support your professional growth.
