The English Department works diligently every day to make sure we are meeting and succeeding the goals placed forth by the students, GGHS, and CCPS District. Our main priority is to ensure the success of our students through enriched lessons, which includes utilizing a variety of resources to increase student engagement and connection in a safe learning environment. This past year was a transitional year with the adoption of the Language Arts Florida Standards (LAFS) and the Florida Standards Assessment (FSA).  Likewise, Collier County Public Schools adopted the HMH Collections for Secondary English Language Arts.  These texts demand rigor and our teachers are experts at scaffolding the curriculum so that your child will be college ready. Our students entering the advanced studies courses have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of critical and scholarly approaches to English literature and cultures.

Our mission is to embrace, cultivate, and innovate the best practices and curriculum, which have been approved by our school board to propel our students forward and prepare them for their futures. Here at GGHS ALL of our students are "LEARNERS today and LEADERS tomorrow."
