The District School Board of Collier County is the five-member elected policy-making body of the school district.  Members serve staggered four-year terms.  The School Board elects a Chair and a Vice-Chair annually in November and appoints the Superintendent of Schools who administers the operations of the schools and the school district. 

Board Members focus on policy and governance.  Specific school or district operations matters are the purview of the Superintendent.  Board members speak of operations issues in connection with policy or regarding ways operations issues may impact formulation of policy.
