It is with great pride and excitement that I introduce myself as your new Assistant Principal. I am so honored to join the Corkscrew community and assist Ms. Bergey in making this a great school year! I grew up in Northern Virginia where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Radford University. I began my career as a kindergarten teacher in Fairfax County, VA.  I loved working with the youngest learners, seeing them progress from nonreaders to readers. Soon I began working toward leadership opportunities and I earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from George Mason University in 2015.  My husband and I moved to Naples where I began teaching 1st grade at Golden Gate Elementary and for the past three years I have worked as an ELL Resource Teacher. My decision to become an administrator came from a strong desire to make a positive impact on an entire school community. As Assistant Principal, I will work diligently with our students, teachers, parents, and the community where "Excellence is Expected" will be my focus.  As a CES family, we will lead with the seven habits to continue success at Corkscrew Elementary.
