The mission of The Collier County Public Schools Principal Mentoring Program is to provide an effective support system that attracts and retains a caring and skilled professional staff which highly values collaborative work, effective leadership, and coordinated work toward a shared mission for the Collier District Schools and its stake holders.
Newly appointed principals receive a Principal Mentor who works with them during their first year. The goals of the Principal Mentoring Program are three-fold:
- Orientation to the new job and its setting
- Induction into the Career and Professio
- Induction into our Vision for the profession
This work includes aligning all activity to the district long-range plan, local school improvement goals, and to state student learning standards. It also defines ones understanding of the assignment to incorporate the increasing & diverse responsibilities of the role and supports the professional growth of subordinates.
