    Principal's Letter

    Dear Shadowlawn Elementary families,

I am very excited about being the principal here at Shadowlawn Elementary School. It is an honor and privilege to work in such a great school community. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you my hopes and dreams for Shadowlawn Elementary School and how, with your support, Shadowlawn Elementary School can continue to be a great place to learn and grow.

It is my hope that Shadowlawn Elementary School be a place where staff and students want to come every day. Together, we will work hard to provide a school climate where teachers collaborate together and support one another’s work, helping students to be successful. Student academics and social growth will continue to be our focus.

It is my dream that for each and every one of our students to be successful, happy, and life-long learners. Together, we will celebrate the successes along the way. My door is always open and I encourage dialogue that is focused on making our school even better. Here’s to a successful 2019-20 school year!

    School Hours:  7:40 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

In the interest of safety, please do not drop off your children before 7:40 a.m., as there is no supervision before that time. Also, please be sure to pick up your children by 3:15 p.m. in the afternoon.

    ARRIVAL TIMES:

Our school day begins at 8:20 a.m. every day. Please be sure to have your child(ren) here on time. Students who are consistently tardy are at a clear disadvantage and usually arrive feeling frantic and unprepared. All students who arrive after 8:25 a.m. must sign in at the office with a parent. If your child will not be present, please call and inform the front office at (239) 377-8400.

    Free and Reduced Lunch:

Both breakfast and lunch are served daily in our cafeteria. Breakfast is FREE for all students. Students may participate in this program, or they may bring their lunch from home. Soda, candy, or gum should not be brought to school. Every family is required to have a Department of Nutrition Services – Family Application for Meal Benefits on file. Applications will be sent home as needed. This information is strictly confidential.

Parents are always welcome to have lunch with their child(ren). Please have proper identification to receive your Visitor’s Pass before checking in at the front office to have lunch with your child.

    School Supply List:

School supply lists for each grade level are available in the office and are also posted on our school’s website: www.collierschools.com/sle

    Drop-off and Pick-up:

Parent Drop-off and Pick-Up will remain in the front of the school on Shadowlawn Drive. Please remember to hang the car-sign with your child’s name and grade level written on it and hang it on the front visor for staff to see in order for them to call your child’s name.
