Tim Carley
6th and 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher
Tim Carley is new to Golden Gate Middle School and new to Florida this school year. He spent 19 years in Harrisburg, PA teaching World Cultures, AP World History, Western Civilization and AP Government. While up North, he was a Middle School Cross Country and Sprinting/Hurdling coach. Additionally, Mr. Carley was in charge of Student Council, Future Business Leaders of America, a member of the PBIS team.
Mr. Carley earned a Bachelors degree in Marketing from Penn State University and spent 15 years in advertising and sales. He was the National Advertising Manager for Psychology Today and worked on the Gillette and Daisy razor accounts, along with Old Spice, Polaroid, and Brown and Williamson. From 2001 - 2004 he earned his Secondary Social Studies and Administrative Masters from West Virginia University.
Mr. Carley enjoys golf, watching movies and theater and is an avid fan of all Cincinnati and Detroit sports teams, having lived in each city. His favorite interest is travel, and has spent a lot of time in Russia, South Africa, Australia, Egypt, Thailand and many other countries. His favorite time was spending 7 weeks in South Africa touring the country and teaching ZULU students the importance of learning English.
