Their achievements not only bring glory to their schools but also serve as a beacon of inspiration for future generations of athletes. Today, we honor and celebrate the following remarkable individuals for their unparalleled skill, relentless drive, and undeniable passion for their sport.

Caden DiLoreto
Aubrey Rogers High School
Sophomore Caden DiLoreto plays quarterback on the Aubrey Rogers High School varsity football team. Caden has been on fire his last 3 games, completing 50 of 94 passes for 772 yards—with 8 touchdown passes and 1 rushing touchdown. He has also set personal best records of 330 passing yards in a single game and 7 touchdowns in 1 game. The talented QB says that he really enjoys football because of “the competitive atmosphere and challenges that come from it.”

Allison Giraldo
Barron Collier High School
Senior Allison Giraldo is a 4-year starter and an outside hitter on the varsity beach and court volleyball teams at Barron Collier High School. She just completed a great season with 121 kills, 165 digs, and 21 aces. She was also a key contributor to the Lady Cougars' 18-9 overall record, which included Conference and District Championships. Allison’s success extends into the classroom where she holds an impressive 4.0 GPA and 5.2 weighted GPA.

Rylee Mayberry
Everglades City School
Rylee Mayberry is a freshman on the Everglades City School varsity volleyball team. The setter and outside hitter had 64 aces this season, giving her an 86.3% serving percentage with 27 kills. Coaches say Rylee is a strong competitor with exceptional knowledge of the sport and the team’s best all-around player. We look forward to watching more of Rylee as she progresses through high school.

Sam Powell
Golden Gate High School
Sam Powell is a dual-sport athlete at Golden Gate High School, playing both basketball and football for the Titans. The junior had a great football season as quarterback on the varsity team, throwing for 1,473 yards with 15 touchdowns. He set a personal best mark when he threw 8 touchdowns in a 55-32 victory over Palmetto Ridge. He’s strong in the classroom as well, earning a 3.0 GPA.

Javien Altine
Gulf Coast High School
Javien Altine is a junior and starting running back on the Gulf Coast High School (GCH) varsity football team. He finished an incredible season with 135 carries for 1,015 yards and 10 touchdowns. Javien averaged 7.5 yards per carry and 126.9 yards per game. He became the first Shark running back to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark in over 10 years. Javien is a member of the GCH Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) and earns a 3.1 GPA in the classroom.

Chris Germinal
Immokalee High School
Chris Germinal is a dual-threat junior quarterback on the Immokalee High School varsity football team. He is having a fantastic year, throwing for 1,229 yards with 13 touchdowns in 9 games. In the Indians' recent victory over Gulf Coast, Chris threw for 191 yards and 1 touchdown and earned a 119.6 QB rating. Earlier this year, Chris set a career high in rushing yards with 101 on just 6 carries.

Azel Jean
Lely High School
Senior Azel Jean has participated in the Unified Champion Schools sports program at Lely High School for four years, competing in bowling, track, and basketball, where he excels at the center position. He led the basketball team to the State playoffs last season, demonstrating strong leadership and teamwork skills. Azel has dedicated more than 180 hours of volunteer time to nonprofits like Habitat for Humanity, and coaches say that he is an exemplary ambassador for the Special Olympics.

Sean Kabengele
Naples High School
Senior Sean Kabengele is a defensive lineman on the Naples High School varsity football team. In 9 games this season, Sean has 35 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 7 quarterback sacks. Sean is a member of the Golden Eagle Football Team Committee, earns a 4.5 weighted GPA, and plans to attend Cornell University to continue his athletic and academic career.

Palmetto Ridge High School
Senior Maximiliano "Max" Arroyo is a 3-year starter and team captain on the boys varsity soccer team at Palmetto Ridge High School. Max plays the mid-fielder position for the Bears and is known for his aggressive style. He recorded 3 assists last year and is looking to improve those numbers this upcoming season. Coaches say that Max has a great "work rate" and leads by example. He also earns a remarkable 4.9 GPA as a full-time dual-enrollment student.

Aubrey Rogers High School
Sophomore Romeo Sararo is a talented wide receiver and defensive back on the Aubrey Rogers varsity football team. In a recent win against Palmetto Ridge, Romeo had 3 receptions for 96 yards and 3 total touchdowns (TDs). In just 2 years, he has set 6 school records including most TDs in a game (3), longest TD reception (75 yards), and most reception yards in a game (99 yards).

Gabriela Potoczak
Barron Collier High School
Senior Gabriela "Gabi" Potoczak is a team captain on the Barron Collier girls swimming & diving team. Gabi is one of the area’s best divers and recently placed 2nd out of 15 divers at the Tarpon Invitational. She is also a district champion and 2X state qualifier in diving. Gabi’s success extends to the classroom as well, where she posts a 4.99 weighted GPA.

Ava Lenz
Everglades City School
Freshman Ava Lenz plays the middle front position on the Everglades City School Gator volleyball team. Her dedication to the sport shows in her stats. In 30 sets played so far this season, she’s earned an 88% serving percentage with 16 aces and 48 kills. Coaches say Ava is known as an unselfish player and great teammate, gaining more confidence every time she steps onto the court.

Danya Voltaire
Golden Gate High School
Danya Voltaire is a senior at Golden Gate High School. In her four years, Danya has competed in the sports of soccer, lacrosse, beach volleyball, and currently hard-court volleyball. She has been one of the most consistent players for the Lady Titans this season, and her coaches say she is a positive influence on her teammates and all those around her.

Ava Heskett
Gulf Coast High School
Senior Ava Heskett runs the 5K on the girls cross country team at Gulf Coast High School. Ava set a personal best time of 19:41, finishing 2nd at the Lehigh Invitational. She followed that up with an impressive time of 20:25 at the DDD Sommer Invitational, placing 4th. Coaches say Ava is a great leader for a Lady Sharks team aiming for another opportunity to race at this year’s State Championship meet.

Jayden Mixon
Immokalee High School
Senior Jayden Mixon is a running back for Immokalee High School’s varsity football team and one of the most talented players in the area. In a recent 44-12 victory versus Golden Gate, Jayden had 12 carries for 120 yards and 4 touchdowns (TDs). So far this season, he is averaging an incredible 8.3 yards per carry, 111.7 rushing yards per game, and has 11 total TDs for the Indians.

Shannyah Bain
Lely High School
Senior Shannyah Bain plays the libero position on the varsity volleyball team at Lely High School. Her talents were on display earlier this month in a game versus Palmetto Ridge where she averaged 10 digs per set. She achieves in the classroom as well, taking several Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) classes while carrying a 3.7 GPA.

Aliyah Torres
Palmetto Ridge High School
Aliyah Torres is a member of the girls golf team at Palmetto Ridge High School. Although a junior, she is a newcomer to the Bears golf program this year. She is making great strides in her game to achieve team and personal goals. Coaches say Aliyah is improving weekly on her total par scores and is motivated and dedicated to becoming a better golfer.

Emily Hyrczyk
Aubrey Rogers High School
Sophomore Emily Hyrczyk is a six-rotation pin hitter on the Aubrey Rogers High School varsity volleyball team. She is coming off a great 2023 season where she compiled 130 kills, 100 digs, and 20 blocks. Coaches say Emily is already one of the team leaders in kills and passing percentage this season and is expected to continue to be a breakout player for a young Patriots varsity team.

Jacob Werner
Barron Collier High School
Jacob Werner is a senior captain on the Barron Collier boys swimming team. After a strong preseason, he is posting some impressive competitive times. In a recent meet against Bishop Verot, Jacob swam 52.60 in the 100m freestyle and recorded a 100m backstroke time of 59.56. At last year’s State Championship, Jacob helped the 400m freestyle team finish 4th overall. He shows strength in the classroom as well with a weighted 5.06 GPA entering his senior year.

Alex Cruz
Everglades City School
Sophomore Alex Cruz runs cross country at Everglades City School. As a team captain this year, he is off to a fantastic start. Alex has already set a personal best 5K time of 22:18.0 (which is 14.4 seconds less than his best time last year) and finished 17th overall in his first meet this season. Coaches say Alex put in work over the summer to elevate his performance this season.

Miah Galban
Golden Gate High School
Miah Galban runs cross country for Golden Gate High School and is a member of the track and field team. In her first 2 cross-country races this season, Miah earned 38th place and 12th place in the 5K. She is coming off a year where she was the fastest freshman female in Collier County, finishing 15th at the District Meet. At that same meet, Miah had 2 top 5 finishes in track, placing 3rd in the 800m and 2nd in the 4x800m team relay.

Sophia Schultz
Gulf Coast High School
Sophia Schultz is a junior outside hitter on the Gulf Coast High School varsity volleyball team. She’s on fire so far this season, collecting 37 kills, 22 digs, and 5 serving aces in just 4 games. Sophia is averaging an incredible 3.2 kills per set. Coaches say they are very impressed by her development, work ethic, and unwavering dedication to the game and her teammates.

Immokalee High School
Senior Jontay Hais is a running back and middle linebacker on the Immokalee High School Indian's football team. He’s had an explosive start to the season, rushing for 256 yards and 3 touchdowns in a big win against Barron Collier. This team leader and versatile player makes big plays from his middle linebacker position on defense and contributes to special teams as well. Coaches say Jontay has been a big part of the resurgent IHS football team.

Lely High School
Sophomore Ninaud Joseph is a team captain and running back on the Trojan varsity football team at Lely High School. To start the season, he’s compiled 188 rushing yards, along with 2 catches for 65 yards and 5 total touchdowns (4 rushing, 1 receiving). Ninaud works hard in the classroom as well, earning a 3.3 GPA.

Naples High School
Madison Bates is a dual threat on the Naples High School swimming and diving team. As a captain on the diving team, she is leading the way for the Lady Eagles, placing first in every meet so far this season. On the swimming side, Madison recently placed 2nd in the 50m freestyle with an impressive time of 29.38.

Michael Nguyen
Palmetto Ridge High School
Senior captain Michael Nguyen is a two-year starter on the Palmetto Ridge High School varsity football team. Michael anchors the offensive line from his center position and is a defensive tackle for the Bears’ defensive line. Coaches say Michael is a strong voice on the team, always encouraging his teammates and holding them accountable. He leads in the classroom as well, posting a 4.53 GPA entering his senior year.
