Become a Guest Teacher

The guest teacher’s role in the educational process of Collier County Public Schools is very important. Providing continuity in the classroom instructional program is essential to a sound education. Occasional absences from classes are unavoidable; however, the continuity of the program can and should be maintained by guest teachers who are well-versed in the policies, procedures, and expectations of the school and classroom.

Through professional training and experience, guest teachers provide students with instruction to minimize negative effects in student achievement that may result from absences of employees.

A guest teacher should expect the needs and intentions of a classroom teacher to be communicated prior to taking charge of the class; conversely, a classroom teacher should expect the plans and assignments, which he/she has left, to be carried out by the guest teacher assigned to his/her classroom.
