It is always surprising how quickly time flies during the summer months. I hope everyone is enjoying this time off by relaxing and spending quality time with family and friends. At CCPS, we are hard at work preparing for a phenomenal 2018-2019 school year.
We were waiting patiently for school grades to be released and I am so excited to share that we continue to be an “A” rated school district! Collier County Public Schools is tied for the third highest in percentage points out of 67 districts in Florida. Our District has 50% of its schools earning an "A" and no "D" or "F" schools. It is the first time in CCPS history that we have all "A", "B", and "C" schools since the inception of school grading in 1999. Click here to read the full Assessment Brief. We are #CCPSProud of the achievements of individual students, families, teachers, school administrators, and the collective District performance. Earning an "A" is a significant accomplishment for our schools and the community.
Along with our outstanding school and District grades, I want to congratulate students, staff, and administrators on the recent assessment results released by the Florida Department of Education (FDOE). Despite the unique challenges we had last school year, CCPS outperformed the State in 19 of 21 tested areas. Grades three, four, five, and six outperformed the State in all areas. In addition, all areas of science increased again this year due to a continued focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) and an emphasis on student engagement. We continue to be encouraged by the District’s upward progression, which is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and staff.
I hope our students are continuing their academic focus while they are away by taking advantage of our Keep Learning Alive resources. Click here to learn more.
Continue having a great summer and we look forward to seeing you back on the first day of school, August 15th!
Sincerely,Dr. Kamela PattonSuperintendentTel (239) 377-0001
