    • Attention all artists! The Media Center is having a bookmark design contest. Choose a book from the 2021 Florida Teens Read list and design a bookmark based on the book. Bookmarks may be hand-drawn or created digitally; there are templates to download on the Media Center Canvas page under Modules; you can also receive a physical copy in the Media Center. Submissions are due by Friday, November 5th, by 2:05pm. Voting for the winner will happen November 8th-18th; the winner will be announced after Thanksgiving break. The winner will receive a $50 gift card to Barnes & Noble, Amazon, or Target (their choice). The second and third place recipients will receive a $10 Amazon gift card.     • Attention:  basketball tryouts for girls are next Tuesday, October 26th directly after school 2:30-4:30pm. Before trying out, you must register online at www.athleticclearance.com, which includes uploading a current physical, birth certificate, and proof of insurance. If you make the team, tryouts will be followed by 2-a-day practices Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Practice times are before school - 5:30 am to 6:30 am and after school - 2:30 to 4:30. All practices will be mandatory.

    • Basketball cheer tryouts are in the cafeteria on Tuesday, October 26 from 3:30 to 5:30, Wednesday, October 27 from 2:30 to 4:30, and Thursday, October 28 from 4:00 to 6:00. Please bring water bottles and your PRHS Spirit!

    • Want to be a VIP? Come to the Media Center to check out and read a book from our New Wall and you will be entered to win VIP seating at lunch for you and a friend for a week. Students can earn one entry for every new book they read. If you are interested in earning VIP status, see Miss Machol in the Media Center for the full rules and more information.

    • Senior class t-shirts are on sale in room 527 for $15. Get yours before they are sold out!

    • National Honor Society is asking for your donation of new socks that will be donated to St. Mathew’s House.  Socks can be dropped off in the bins located in the Front Reception area, Media Center, and Student Services office.  This event runs for the entire month.  NHS appreciates your help in bringing some comfort to those in need.

    • Hey 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students! Are you unsure of what career path you might want to take?  Take the ASVAB to find out what strengths you possess for your future. The ASVAB is not just a military test.  It’s not like any other tests you take.  It is an opportunity to find your interests and explore careers. The ASVAB is being offered at PRHS on Thursday, October 28 at 7:30 am in the Auditorium. Sign up in the Guidance office by Friday, October 22 to participate in the ASVAB test. See Ms. Wyerman if you have questions. Remember to sign up by October 22.
