PUBLIC NOTICE
Committee application for the Supplemental Secondary Reading Intervention Review Work Group will close on Monday, January 9, 2023. The District School Board of Collier County will hold a meeting to review and score the applications to serve on the Supplemental Secondary Reading Intervention Review Work Group, on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Administrative Center, 5775 Osceola Trail, Naples, Florida 34109, in Room 2-231.

Supplemental Secondary Reading Intervention Materials Work Group Applications
The application for parent and/or community members to join the Supplemental Secondary Reading Intervention Materials Work Group is now open. The purpose of this work group is to evaluate and select a highly effective, evidence-based secondary reading intervention program. This resource will be utilized in secondary Intensive Reading classrooms to provide reading intervention to assist secondary students in achieving grade-level proficiency. The duties of the Work Group will consist of, but may not be limited to, reviewing and scoring publisher submissions and attending publisher presentations to determine the best resource for purchase.

The District will convene the Supplemental Secondary Reading Intervention Materials Work Group to consider new Intensive Reading supplemental instructional materials for implementation in the 2023 - 24 school year. Work Group meetings and trainings will begin the week of January 18, 2023.
Qualified applicants must:
- Possess knowledge and/or demonstrate expertise in the content area
- Be a full time Collier County resident
- Be willing to commit to 20 - 30 hours for review of instructional materials (after school hours)
- Be able to score instructional materials using an electronic platform and evaluation tool
- Be available to attend all committee meetings (during the work day)

Florida Statutes:
Per Florida Statue 1006.283, Collier County Public School's Instructional Materials Program adheres to a process that includes review, recommendation, adoption, and purchase of instructional materials. All parents and guardians have the ability to access and review their children’s instructional materials and are encouraged to access at any time. INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS ADOPTION SCHEDULES
Each year instructional materials are reviewed and considered for adoption, please see calendars below.
Instructional materials are selected in compliance with Florida Statute 1006.31 and Board Policy 2520. Parents interested in reviewing instructional materials or reviewing the Instructional Materials Work Group Calendar/Meetings and related documentation may contact (239) 377-0103 for more information.
