SSYRA Program - The Sunshine State Young Readers Award Program

Students in grades K-5 are invited to participate in the SSYRA Program.  Students in grades K-2 used the Sunshine State Jr. list, and students in grades 3-5 used the SSYRA 3-5 list.  As students read the 15 nominated books from the state selected lists, they earn brag tags.  If they read three or more, they will get to vote for their favorite to determine the state winner.  Our aim this year is to have all students in grades K-5 "pie-ticipate" in the program and read three.  If we reach our goal, all the students will get to take aim at the Media Specialist with a pie in the face.  If you would like more information about the selected titles, click here for the K-2 annotated list and click here for the 3-5 annotated list.

Sora 

Students have access to over 16,000 ebooks and audiobooks purchased by CCPS Schools on Sora.  In addition, PME has purchased titles that are only available to our students thanks to our generous PTO as well as library fundraisers such as book fairs and readathons.. 
Sora is especially formatted for easy use and recommended for younger students.    

Sora can be accessed on your school issued laptop by going to Canvas Resources.  If you are using the app on an iPad or other digital device, you must search for Pelican Marsh Elementary (CCPS Schools) and then you will login with your regular school computer login.
