UPDATE #3 - TROPICAL STORM NICOLE (11-9-2022)
Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) continues to monitor Tropical Storm Nicole. According to the latest information from the National Weather Service in Miami, while the storm will make landfall on the east coast of Florida, the storm's large wind field is expected to bring sustained tropical storm force winds (35mph or more) to Collier County beginning tonight and continuing into tomorrow morning. These winds could potentially exceed safe levels for buses to be on the roads.
TODAY (WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9)
After-school childcare will continue as scheduled this afternoon. Parents are encouraged to pick up their child(ren) early from childcare, if possible.
All CCPS activities and athletic competitions will be canceled beginning tonight at 5:00pm. The Sharing the Commitment Meeting will be canceled.
TOMORROW (THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 10)
Out of an abundance of caution for student and staff safety, Collier County Public Schools will be CLOSED tomorrow (Thursday, November 10).
- All CCPS sites will be closed
- All after-school programs held at CCPS sites will be closed
- All extracurricular activities, including athletic practices and competitions, will be canceled
- All Adult and Community Education classes will be canceled
- All District leases will be suspended
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11CCPS will resume normal operations on Friday, November 11, which will be an Early Dismissal Day as previously scheduled on the 2022-23 Academic School Calendar.
HURRICANE MAKE-UP DAYS
Due to the amount of instructional time in the first semester, there continues to be no impact to the scheduled Hurricane Make-Up Days (November 21 and 22). At this time, CCPS will not need to make up any unscheduled days off. Fall Break remains November 21 - November 25.
We will continue to monitor the storm and collaborate with the National Weather Service in Miami, the National Hurricane Center, and Collier County Bureau of Emergency Management for the latest information.

UPDATE #2 - TROPICAL STORM NICOLE (11-8-2022)
Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) continues to monitor Tropical Storm Nicole. Based on the latest tracking models and insight from the National Weather Service in Miami, the cone of concern for Nicole has moved away from Collier County.At this time, all school and District operations will continue as scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday, November 9). The current forecast allows for the safe operation of school buses. On Wednesday, we will provide an update regarding any impacts to District operations at CCPS sites for Thursday.
CCPS will continue to monitor the storm's path and collaborate with the National Weather Service in Miami, the National Hurricane Center, and Collier County Bureau of Emergency Management for the latest information.

UPDATE #1 - SUBTROPICAL STORM NICOLE (11-7-2022)
CCPS is actively monitoring Subtropical Storm Nicole very closely. The National Weather Service in Miami has informed us that while landfall is projected to be on the east coast of Florida, Collier County may feel some impacts later this week.At this time, all school and District operations continue on normal schedules. CCPS will continue to monitor the storm's path and collaborate with the National Weather Center and Collier County Bureau of Emergency Management for the latest information. Should there be any impacts to District operations at CCPS sites later this week, we will use all of our communication channels to provide timely information.Please continue to monitor our communication channels for additional updates.
