TROPICAL WEATHER UPDATE #1 - PTC4 (August 2, 2024)
Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) is actively monitoring the tropical system (PTC4) that is currently in the Caribbean. The National Weather Service in Miami has placed coastal Collier County under a Tropical Storm warning due to potential impacts to our area during the weekend.
Out of an abundance of caution, all activities and leases scheduled at CCPS school and district sites will be canceled starting at 12:00pm on Saturday and will be canceled all day on Sunday. All CCPS sites will be closed during this time.
We will continue to monitor the storm throughout the weekend for any changes in the expected timeline. If there is a need for additional cancelations into Monday, the district will provide an update using all communication methods.
Please continue to monitor our District website (collierschools.com) and social media (@collierschools) for the latest information.
