BOUNDARY MODIFICATION

  • The Attendance Boundary Review Team is composed of a broad contingent of CCPS staff with representatives from District Leadership; Student and Staff Projections, Allocations, and Reporting (SSPAR); Transportation; School Leadership; Teaching and Learning; and other departments as needed. The team regularly meets to review enrollment and residency data to determine if an attendance boundary adjustment is needed.

If there is a need, the team develops a variety of scenarios to arrive at a proposal. As the team develops a proposal to put forward for community feedback and School Board consideration, there are a number of considerations the team takes into account including keeping neighborhoods together, minimizing impact, the time and distance of current and proposed bus routes, fiscal responsibility, and School Board policy.

At the January 10, 2023 School Board meeting, a motion was made to accept the attendance boundary proposal at the middle and high school levels as proposed. The motion carried and was approved by the School Board to go into affect for the 2023-2024 school year.

The attendance boundary modification at the high school level impacts the following schools: Aubrey Rogers High, Barron Collier High, Golden Gate High (limited impact), Gulf Coast High, and Palmetto Ridge High.

The "spot" attendance boundary modification at the middle school level impacts the following schools: Corkscrew Middle and Oakridge Middle. The middle school attendance boundary modification moves the communities of Grey Hawk and Calusa Pines completely into the Oakridge Middle School attendance boundary.
