2021-2022 MAY DISTRICT ALL-STARS
As we near the last few weeks of the 2021-2022 school year, Collier County Public Schools is proud to announce this penultimate group of District All-Stars for the month of May. Four seniors, two juniors, and two freshmen top the sports charts this month, representing track & field, softball, baseball, lacrosse, and tennis. These student-athletes are record holders, academic scholars, District Champions, and all-around team leaders.

Carter White
Barron Collier High School
Carter White, a junior at Barron Collier High School, is a top baseball player in the District. As a three-year starting shortstop for the Cougars, he is having a fantastic season batting .407 with 2 home runs, 17 RBI's, 11 stolen bases, and 16 runs scored! This successful student-athlete has a verbal commitment to continue his baseball career at the University of Central Florida. -
Gena Collins
Everglades City School
Everglades City School freshman Gena Collins has quickly become a vital part of the girls softball team. Her versatility as a player is clearly one of her strengths. Not only is she talented enough to play all three outfield positions, she is also the Gators’ cleanup hitter batting fourth. So far this season Gena has a .310 batting average with 11 RBI's and 15 runs scored!

Nigel Katende
Golden Gate High School
Nigel Katende is very talented long jumper on the Golden Gate High School track & field team. He has had an amazing senior year, earning first-place medals in both the long and triple jump events in every meet this season! Nigel also finished either first or second in all meets in the high jump and the 300- meter intermediate hurdles event. He owns the school record in the triple jump with 46'6.75ft/14.19m.

Kelly Richter
Gulf Coast High School
Senior Kelly Richter plays at the number one position for both singles and doubles for Gulf Coast High School girls tennis team. She had an incredible season, going undefeated in all her Collier and Lee County matches. Kelly finished second in the Class 4A Singles State Championship match and helped the Sharks reach the Regional Finals for an impressive fifth time in seven years!

Mario Morales
Immokalee High School
Immokalee High School’s Mario Morales is a junior lacrosse player and considered to be one of the best players in the District. He has earned this distinction by scoring an incredible 32 goals this season. Mario helped lead the Indians to a 10-8 record this year and led the team in assists with 24. His coaches refer to him as an “offensive general” – a true leader on the field.

Melora St. Fleur
Lely High School
Melora St. Fleur is a senior on the Lely High School track & field team. At the District meet, she placed first in shot put (10.93 meters) and second in discus (34.87 meters), earning her a spot in the Regionals meet. Melora's personal best throw in the shot put is 11.68 meters and 35.8 meters in discus. She plans to pursue a degree in Criminology next fall.

Brady Clark
Naples High School
Brady Clark is a freshman standout at Naples High School. He is a key contributor to the Eagles' Collier County Athletic Conference (CCAC) and District Champion Track & Field team. Brady became a District champion in the discus and had an impressive 3rd place finish in the javelin. He received the Academic Scholar and Academic Booster Club Leadership awards, and maintains a 4.0 GPA in the classroom.

Autumn Eckerd
Palmetto Ridge High School
Palmetto Ridge High School senior Autumn Eckerd plays catcher and first base on the girls softball team. Her coaches say she has been an instrumental leader for the Bears. She is second on the team in defensive efficiency with a .962 fielding percentage. She is having a great year at the plate as well, batting .352 with 10 stolen bases so far. Autumn will be attending the University of Miami on an academic scolarship in the fall.
