  • Where should I volunteer?

First, take a look at the Approval Form to see what will not count as volunteer hours. Then, think about what you like to do (for example: help children or play sports) and call places around town like the Boys and Girls Club or ask coaches in your school if they are in need of volunteers!

  • When should I start volunteering?

    Posted by:

The earlier, the better! If you qualify for 100% Bright Futures, you are required to complete 100 hours of community service. It is best to start volunteering as early as your 9th grade year. You don't want to wait until your senior year to get this done.

Community Service is defined as identifying a social issue in the community. This requires students to look beyond themselves and reach out to an issue faced by our society (i.e. poverty, abuse, elderly citizen rights).
