Money Back Guarantee Program: HB 1507 creates s. 1011.803, F.S., to require each school district and FCS institution to create a money-back guarantee program, for a minimum of three programs, that will refund tuition to students who are unable to find employment in their field of study within six months of completion of certain workforce education programs.
Collier County Public Schools is committed to offering a tuition money back guarantee to eligible graduates in Practical Nursing, Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning/Refrigeration and Welding, who are not able find employment in their field of study within six months of completion. The money back guarantee is for tuition only and does not include any other costs associated with participation in the Postsecondary Career and Technical Education program including lab fees, testing fees, supplies or materials.
To be eligible to apply for the tuition money back guarantee, the graduate must meet the following requirements:
School Requirements
- Tuition must have been self- pay. Tuition paid by Title IV (Pell), Career Source, Vocational Rehabilitation or any other third-party including scholarships are not eligible for refund.
- Student must have no outstanding obligations to the school.
- Student must submit the Money Back Guarantee Application with support documentation no later than one year from date of graduation.
Program Specific Requirements
Practical Nursing Program (ITECH and LWTC)
- Complete all courses with a minimum grade of an 80 (B)
- Achieved a 92% on the ATI predictor
- Obtain a “green light” on the ATI tutor if a 92% on the ATI predictor was not achieved
- Pass the Board of Nursing NCLEX Exam
- Participate in an employability skills workshop
- Have a cover letter and resume on file
- Attend all interviews scheduled by the institutions
- Must be available to work
- 3 months after graduation, if unemployed, meet with Workforce Advisory to discuss employment opportunities
Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning, Ventilation/Refrigeration (ITECH and LWTC)
- Complete all courses with a minimum grade of a 70 (C)
- Pass at least one industry specific certification exam
- Participate in an employability skills workshop
- Have a cover letter and resume on file
- Attend all interviews scheduled by the institutions
- Must be available to work
- 3 months after graduation, if unemployed, meet with Workforce Advisory to discuss employment opportunities
Welding (ITECH Glades)
- Complete all courses with a minimum grade of a 70 (C)
- Pass at least one industry specific certification exam
- Participate in an employability skills workshop
- Have a cover letter and resume on file
- Attend all interviews scheduled by the institutions
- Must be available to work
- 3 months after graduation, if unemployed, meet with Workforce Advisory to discuss employment opportunities
