• At Big Cypress Elementary, we are proud to celebrate the rich diversity that makes our school community so special. We believe that understanding and appreciating the unique histories, cultures, and contributions of all individuals is essential to building a supportive, inclusive, and respectful environment for our students.

Throughout the school year, we celebrate diversity in a variety of meaningful ways. Each month, we recognize different cultural observances and heritage months, including:

    • Hispanic Heritage Month
    • Patriot Day
    • Native American Heritage Month
    • Veteran’s Day
    • Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
    • Black History Month
    • President’s Day
    • Women’s History Month
    • Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

During these months, students engage in lessons and create art that highlights the history, achievements, and contributions of these communities. These activities are designed by our Cultural Celebration Committee, which has a member from each grade level, to not only educate but also to inspire respect, appreciation, and a deeper understanding of the diverse world around us.

We are proud to create a space where our students can learn from each other, celebrate differences, and recognize the beauty of unity through diversity. These monthly observances are just one of the many ways we strive to foster an environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and reflective of the world our students will continue to shape.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to nurture well-rounded, culturally aware young people who will make a positive impact on the world.
