The School District of Collier County has an Advisory Committee for Exceptional Student Education (special education). It is comprised of a cross representation of parents, teachers, administrators, and community stakeholders. Meetings address district and state issues. The Advisory Committee for ESE operates collaboratively in order to gain and share information from its Board members and guests. Spanish and Creole translation available.

Partners In Transition is a multidisciplinary team that addresses the unique needs of persons with disabilities post-high school, including employment and training, postsecondary education and their desired living accommodations. Partners In Transition works with students, young adults, families and community stake holders in a variety of ways to increase and enhance the post-school lives of students with disabilities.

Parent Involvement
Sharing the Commitment wants to make a difference in the education of all children. Through your participation, you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills necessary to become more comfortable in your role as a partner in the education process. Sharing the Commitment offers parent education in special education instruction, related services, transition, behavior, District practices and dispute resolution. Here are some suggestions of ways that you can stay involved in your child’s life:- Join the School Advisory Committee (SAC)
- Be a school volunteer
- Complete a survey
- Attend the annual ESE Expo
- Attend an ESE Sharing the Commitment Advisory Committee meeting
- Attend an ESE Collier Partners in Transition Committee meeting
- Support the classroom teacher!
