A dedicated student and Golden Gate High School’s Senior Spotlight, Maurilio “Leo” Solano’s life has been defined by resilience and heart. A cross-country athlete since freshman year, Leo finds balance in his life, which he describes as "fast-paced, overwhelming, and self-reflective." Despite the pressures of dual enrollment at Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW), Leo prioritizes deep connections with his family and community, often acting as a bridge that brings people together. His approach to life is guided by his favorite mantra: "There is always a solution to a problem."  

True to his character, Leo has decided to serve others by joining the Army Reserves. He carries with him the lessons learned from his time at Golden Gate and the importance of honesty, maturity, and the value of time. As he prepares for his next chapter, his focus remains on growth, service, and staying true to himself.
