Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Richard Ponton

I have been a Collier County Public Schools Teacher for over 30 years. I have my MSTESOL and am a National Board Certified Teacher for Career and Tech Ed. I also have been an Adjunct Professor at FIU for a dozen years. I have taught a variety of classes, but multimedia and technology have always been incorporated in every subject. My role for over fifteen years has been the Digital Media/Multimedia Design Teacher here at LWTC. I was the first teacher hired to teach at the high school attached the LWTC. My intentions were to teach there for a year or two, then transfer to NHS to be with my daughters. However, I fell into a wonderful opportunity here and have never left. Students receive a solid and up-to-date education in multimedia. Today, we are covering topics from video to web design and social media. I know this career cluster changes amazingly fast, and I stay on top of trends. Who knows what will be trending tomorrow. I am a person of dichotomies, willing to try almost anything. I am a Christian, but love dark speed metal. My wife and I have a home with acreage, but love visiting New York City. I have a strong work ethic and have high expectations from those around me. Speaking of...we have two amazing daughters, successful in so many ways. Come to my class if success in multimedia is what you want.
