• Program Overview

    Students in this program learn how to create drawings and computer simulations in support of mechanical and industrial engineers. In addition to drafting techniques, students study manufacturing processes and materials, the science of metal, and technical communication. This program stresses the understanding of all aspects of the drafting industry and includes training in planning, management, finance, technical and production skills, underlying principles of technology, labor issues, community issues, and health, safety, and environmental issues.

  • Program Structure and Courses

    • This program is a planned sequence of instruction consisting of seven occupational completion points. When the recommended sequence is followed, the structure will allow students to complete specified portions of the program for employment or to remain for advanced training. A student who completes the applicable competencies at any occupational completion point may either continue with the training program or become an occupational completer. This program is comprised of courses which have been assigned course numbers in the SCNS (Statewide Course Numbering System) in accordance with Section 1007.24 (1), F.S. Career and Technical credit shall be awarded to the student on a transcript in accordance with Section 1001.44(3)(b), F.S.
